Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe

We went for dinner at Xin Wang (Cineleisure)....

This wasnt exactly my top choice out of the options i gave them but they were all so excited about this place.

The interior of the place....

Their menu...

Lea ordered a iced tea while Leoie ordered a iced yuan yang...

Upon the server's recommendation, Leoie ordered the zha jiang mian to share....

According to the server, this dish had pretty good reviews from customers.

The girls were teasingly saying the mixing of the carrot and cucumber slices with the noodles and meat sauce felt like it was lao-ing yu sheng...

We began lao-ing and saying auspicious wishes while we lao-ed!

The zha jiang mian was alright i guess. the noodle was nice... the meat sauce's taste wasnt amazing but it was not terrible either.

Leoie ordered a pork chop rice...

Diane liked the sauce alot and said its really nice (wat she truly meant was this was the nicest item for the night in her view). I felt that the sauce tastes abit like the one we have at home when we cook pig trotters. But the homecooked version is much much much much much nicer and thicker. The pork was quite tender though.

Diane ordered some spicy meat sauce mee sua...

it was not nice! Let's just say the only thing that was finished of this dish is the cucumber, the tomato, the vegetable and the egg. The taste was pretty bland.

I had the char siew soup noodle...

its not nice. The noodle was not Q, the soup was very bland. Pretty disappointed. Only struggled to finish the japanese char siew were were not even special.

Sonia helped me to finish the egg in my noodles because i ordered soft boiled eggs...

was craving for soft boiled eggs (thanks to ping jie jie's msn pic!). Well, i guess u cannot go wrong with soft boiled eggs. If Xin Wang messed up even the soft boiled eggs den its really terrible.

Lea and sonia shared a luncheon meat and egg sandwich...

They dun even bother to toast the bread! The sandwich was.. ok i guess. Its about what u can cook at home. The one u cook at home probably tastes much better.

They also shared a peanut butter and condensed milk toast...

They were pleasantly delighted that it was topped with alot of milo powder! However, the toast was not as good as Tong Shui's. The toast, probably cos its too thick, doesnt taste crispy by the sides.
