Lunar Nuna Korean Dessert Cafe (Bangkok)

Facebook is quite cool these days, they actually prompted me about me being near 3 highly rated restaurants and Lunar Nuna being one of them!

So I decided to check it out! It is located at level 1 of siam square!

Ordered a peach soda and a dessert which they said takes abt 10 mins to prepare.

While waiting, I noticed this machine...

Apparently with my order, I'm entitled to a free peach yogurt freeze thingy! And I can diy!

Can add some white popping pearl like thingy too! So gimmicky but I'm such a sucker for it!

My peach soda....

I liked how it's not overly sweet and the peach syrup had peach jelly with it so it's really crunchy in texture. I love it!

The dessert which is salted caramel....

The egg omelette tart thingy was soooo good! Soft with a eggish taste. The top part is slightly charred making it so fragrant! Super good! It is served hot and topped with a ice cream in the middle. The hot and cold mixture is a great sensation! Now I can't wait to try the other items on the menu!

Bingki

we headed over Bingki (Tanjong Pagar Plaza) for Bingsu after dinner for more chats and of coz for the yummy desserts!

Tried this formage cheese cake they have there and its really pretty good!

the cake was moist and the cream cheese in the middle was amazing!

BINGSU!!

honeydew....

which they all really liked it. i am not much of a honeydew person.

Watermelon!

i love the watermelon! its so refreshing! the watermelon is also pretty sweet!

and another one of my fav flavour - injeolmi! its somewhat called korean rice cake...

i don't actually like the korean rice cake but i like the power. goes very well with the milky fine ice and those almond flakes! yay!

and we again couldn't resist and order one of their cuter looking ones with a bear/animal design. This time, in chocolate...

don't quite fancy the chocolate flavour as much. Still much prefer the watermelon and injeolmi one!

Like to come to bingki for its flavours and also the fact that they are 24 hours/open till late (like 3am). The place is generally clean but the floor sometimes seem to have this not fully cleaned smell at times.

Service is ok though sometimes the staffs seem overworked so occasionally bin chao chao. But sometimes quite nice.

But overall, we had a good time here!

Bibing

Feels like we very 哈韩 recently. Keep eating bingsu! Actually we wanted to head over to Creamier but it is closed on Mondays.

This bimbimbap bingsu is quite interesting! Really does look like bimbimbap!

And it's quite good! The centre is yoghurt and all the fruits are quite fresh!

Very into shaved ice and bingsu lately!

Bingki

I had a sudden craving for bingsu and upon googling, I realised this place is open 24 hours!

Located at tanjong pagar plaza, it is near the market.

We ordered 2 flavours to share...

The macha one was ordered simply Coz it looks more Instagram or social media worthy. Hahaah but it was not bad of Coz.

The rice cake flavour was much nicer in taste. The ice melts in the mouth and I really like the powder together with bits of peanuts. Yums!

Captain K Seafood Tower

U know that trending Korean seafood tower thingy? Well, dear dear was keen so we headed there for dinner today!

They have different no. Of tiers sets, the max being 9 and you can still top up if you like so we decided to sat sat for for max since it's our first visit!

The 9 tier one includes lobster and goes at $288. The 7 tier one goes around $180.

And being such a tall tower, you typically got to stand up to consume the first few tiers!

The first tier was clams and mussels...

It was very good! They were tasty and fresh. Hence despite it being only just steamed, it was yummy! Likewise for the mussels. This is probably my second favourite layer, right after the scallops!

Next layer were the prawns...

The prawns were decent. Fresh.

Next was the oysters...

Also pretty fresh! Dear dear liked this most.

Following this was the snow crab...

Typically am not a snow crab lover so this didn't do much for me and I didn't have much of this.

Next was the lobsters!

I concluded also that this 9 tier isn't good for 8-9 pax! How to share the lobsters like that?! Hahaha I want half! The lobsters were not bad too. Decent size!

Following that was the squid with rice...

The squid with rice looks better than it taste. The rice is with a bit of haybe hiam but it was a little too bland. The squid as well, it was not nice. Bland and the texture was bleah.

But the servers I must say gave very good service. Or they were probably the bosses. When they came to check on us and we gave our feedback, they immediately asked if they could try it and feedback to the kitchen.

Also, one of my friend requested for white rice earlier. It's not her first visit so they Rem her as the lady who wants rice. They didn't have it today but they actually went over to buy it for her at a nearby store.

The next layer was the mantis prawn...

Slightly harder to peel compared to normal ones. 2 of my friends didn't really like the taste. I quite liked it though. They found this prawn less sweet and has a funny taste. I pretty liked it. Haha!

And just when we thot its the last layer and next is the soup base (which we chose ginseng chicken at an additional cost of $15), it turns out to be another layer of scallops!

The scallop is my favourite layer! It's yummy! There is a bed of vermicelli below and the scallops are relatively big in size. Importantly, the taste is flavourful! I love it!

And last but not least, the soup base!

There is a fridge section where like steamboat, you can get items to add to the soup and have it cooked...

The soup was tasty to me. Can't really taste the ginseng thou it's ginseng chicken. Also could barely taste the seafood Coz the guy topped up the soup very efficiently right after we removed the last layer, diluting it. Too efficient haha!

After the meal, dessert was options of Korean ice cream sticks. Like melon, mango etc.

The whole meal came up to $380 which is about $92 per pax for the 4 of us.

Overall I like the experience. Fresh seafood and all, may bring my mum over!

Nanta BBQ

Seafoodies gathering and they all wanted Korean BBQ. Clammy saw this place on social media so here we are.

The signature of this place seems to be their pork ribs with cheese...

Reminds me of Yoogane but this is much nicer. The pork rib is meaty and the cheese after awhile is quite good!

Also like the Korean BBQ meat they serve..

Also yummy! Will be back!

Ne Ne Chicken

Tried the Ne Ne Chicken today

I opted for the 2 piece chicken which can have the sauce separated. The fried chicken was good! Skin was crispy and tasty!

Bunny had the soy sauce tenders. Breast meat but again, the crisp was good!

The drink with bite size chicken on the top is called nene pop! Haha not to my liking coz it's breast meat!

The rice is soy rice but was too sweet for my liking. Bunny liked it thou.

Overall, I will be back for the fried chicken (without sauce!)

Superstar K

So the gf was craving for bbq so we landed at superstar k!

What I like about superstar, is their meat! So tender!

What I don't like, their pricing (haha) and the fact that they only serve 2 rounds of side dishes.

But overall, nice food!
