loh gong zai had the beef stew which was pretty good!

seiichii had sausages....

Brussel Sprouts

went bridal shopping (kind of) with loh gong zai and minako today. I think i helped him save another few hundred so he gave me a treat!

by the time we were done was around 9 plus and loh gong zai suggested going to east coast park for belgium food. turns out, it was brussel sprouts.

the fries come along with the mussels he ordered...

the fries are SOOOOO GOOD! not a fries person but omg.. the thick fries are just soooo addictive. very very yummy!

im not sure what cooking style he chose for the mussels but its very good...

the sauce was yummy! mussels were decent although if they were a little bigger, i think will be nicer.

Minako ordered a steak tartare...

i think as of now, i've not found a steak tartare that i've found to be really super good.

for myself, i ordered a baked crab meat...

i like the good amount of crab meat but overall found the dish too dry. even the supposedly buttered mashed potatoes on top is just too dry.

loh gong zai had a roast pork belly which is awesome!

generous amount of meat, nicely grilled. the pork is tender with a good amount of fats. YUMMY!

Oosters

I met Joey and I-Shan for dinner @ Oosters.

25 Church Street,
#01-04 Capital Square Three,

Singapore 049482
Tel: 6438 3210
Fax: 6438 5892

Onion soup ($8)...

was told that Joey really digs onion soup. He didnt think much of their onion soup though. I felt that their onion soup has quite strong liquor taste. Its not too bad in my view just not very onion-soupish. haha..

fries that came with one of the mains...

their fries are not bad.

their white wine mussels ($23)...

the mussels are good. especially the white wine sauce which tastes like soup. i like! Lionel, i think u'll like this!

and Joey was telling us there is a way to eat the mussels....

thats to use the shell of the first one to pick up the next one den use it to pick the meat out!

for mains we also shared a hoegaarden cod ($26)....

the name itself interested I-shan and myself! The cod turns out to be really good. The cream sauce was not really gerlard and the cod was not gerlard! The three of us really liked it.. i especially liked their vegetables as well.. really soft and good.

the boeuf brabancon ($21)...

which effectively is beef stew....

Taste wise its quite alright but the meat has quite a bit of tendon making it not as easy to eat.

Sausage and Stoemp ($19)...

also pretty good sausages with a nice mashed potato.

The Sweet Stone Parad Ice

After the service, we decided to head for lunch and somewhere cheap was the lead. We decided to head to the army market coz i heard dar and jing hua mention about some fondue place there.

it was not hard to locate the fondue stall.. just... follow the queue.....

The Sweet Stone Parad Ice...

uncle joo who was staying nearby also came to join us... and he had the honour of queuing for us. hehehe... in fact, coincidentally, idol was also meeting him so idol joined us as well and ah yee and uncle sq also drove down to meet us! suddenly it was like some gathering!

uncle joo ordered the fondue with the waffles and 2 ice cream...

the 2 ice cream flavours were chocolate and splenduloo...

the chocolate ice cream was really nice! even i, someone who doesnt really go for chocolate ice cream think its nice!

i was actually the one who chose the splendourloo (actually i cant really remember the actual spelling). the first mouth tasted a bit.. weird. subsequently it tasted better but i dun particularly like it.... we couldnt make out what flavour it is also.

the waffle...

the waffle was alright.. some parts of it was sweet like there was crushed sugar. i like those parts.

dipping it into the chocolate sauce...

the whole thing came up to around $18.
