阿2靓煲汤

Was craving for the Buddha jump over the wall but was told they have a new outlet at airport so decided to check it out!

It’s over at T4 foodcourt, good chance to visit t4 too!

The soup here is more expensive. The one at jurong is $7.50 whilst this is $11. But price isn’t the issue. It’s the thickness and flavor. The soup at jurong is like 5x thicker than the one here. Disappointing.

The olive rice was really good thou!

阿2煲靓汤

a true 西游记 indeed! Coz we really took on a journey to the west for this infamous 佛跳墙 that Loh gong Zai and minako recommended!

It is located at the Yuan Ching food court where Super Bowl is and they gave rave recommendations about this! In fact they said the ABC market has a same stall but the standard isn’t on par. He said the one here is wayyyyyyyyy better despite that the ABC One won some Michelin Star?

Buddha jump over the wall for a mere $7?

For $7, we have no complains! In fact, we wonder how they earn $! And actually, the soup was super flavorful! It was superb! Each bowl came with many pieces of fish maw, mushroom and fake abalone too...

Aside from the soup, we also ordered the pork trotters....

It was rather tender. Not the mosttt flavourful but no complains!

I also loved the olive rice!

Thank you for the great recommendation!

And thank you for the treat!!

Emperor’s Garden Cake and Bakery (Sydney)

So we randomly walked along Chinatown of Sydney after heading to the Paddy’s market and we chanced upon a QUEUE!

And being typical Singaporeans, got Q we MUST JOIN!

Buy what? Duno! But den hor, ang moh also Q, must be good!

Probably some kind of pastry? We got to see what we were queuing for nearer to the front and while there’s a Q, it’s a short one.

Emperor’s puff! It looks like kueh neng ko!

Initially we thot it’s like the 鸡蛋仔 from HK but not quite. It’s actually some round balls of pastry puff with custard inside. It’s like waffle custard cream puff!

Quite a good mix and particularly good when u have it hot. Just bite a little and it gets u to the centre...

Nom nom nom!

Tunglok Heen

Lunch treat from bunny! Wanted to pack for my dad so we had Tunglok Heen.

Their goose tongue which is very nicely stewed in a slightly spicy dark sauce. The flavour is awesome and the texture is soft!

This fish maw soup is very enjoyable for me thou the price tag is very high. But I really like the thick collagen texture and taste. It's very quality collagen. But one small bowl of this is even more expensive than one whole pot or beauty pot!

The fish maw inside is superb thou! It's gluey gluey one, I like it a lot!

Bunny ordered the asparagus fried with olive and some minced meat...

Which she really liked and I must say it's not bad.

The Xo fried rice which she really likes as well...

The pork collar cooked in some sweet teriyaki sauce...

Texture of the meat was really good. The meat and the fats were just all mixed so it's bouncy.

And finally, the seafood stewed bee hoon that my dad loves..

Something about the wok hei in this dish that makes it really good with quality seafood ingredients.

Xin Da Lu China Kitchen 新大陆 (Shanghai)

First, we hopped over to Hyatt by the Bund to pacify our tummies to make up for the bad dinner last night.

Bibi told us there's Peking duck for lunch today!

We were famished when we got there and we ordered some small items to start. The Beancurd skin roll was one of them!

When I said small, it's indeed small......

We perceived it to be bigger! But it was so good! Comes with a vinegarish sauce that's so refreshing!

Next item is a fried mini shrimp dish....

This was SO DAMN GOOD! We have all concluded that this dish is like the best dish of the trip! It's crunchy and you can eat the whole damn thing including the shell yet you can still taste the prawn itself. Super darn good.

In fact this whole meal was fabulous! So good it makes me want to come back to Shanghai just for their food itself!

We had a cod fish soup, this was also crazy awesome! The soup has like different dimensions to it despite being a clear soup. The green like thingy isn't parsley or coriander! It's quite unique, not like something we've had before!

Chicken in sze chuan sauce...

Crazy crazy tender chicken with Chinese wine. Another dish that rocked my lunch! Super good!

And of course, Peking duck!!!

Keep carving!!

And for the Peking duck, they cut out for you the pure skin, the skin with meat and the meat!

The skin was soooooooo crispy!

To match well with the meal china wine! I don't know what this is but it's very potent and very good!

Chinese scallion noodles...

Ok the noodles was the most bleah of the meal. It looks better than it tastes!

And the pyramid pork belly that was quite a sight!

It was not bad too!

And the gyoza....

The gyoza was ok ok.

The buns to go with the pork belly!

And since the only good dish we had last night was the beef noodles, we had to order their version too!

It's very herbal in taste, noodles too soft but the soup was on point!

Fook Yew (Jakarta)

Another random choice but this time it's due to the the name and decor that i chose this place.

Fook Yew!

And accordingly, this is what it stands for...

A semi fusion Chinese decorated cafe....

Love being welcomed by a life size fortune cat!

The menu was like some olden martial skills book!

Ordered a prawn and salted egg dumpling...

Which was ok. Can say it's pretty good for jakarta standards.

Also ordered a fried noodle served in the ang moh Chinese food takeaway box!

This noodle is seafood fried noodles and it's very yummy! I realize they do pretty good fried noodles and rice!

Also couldn't resist ordering the 5 colours Xiao long bao!

While it probably looks ok, it was quite bad. Haha so much so that I couldn't even finish one.

And being a halal country, the Xiao long bao is made of chicken instead of pork/beef.

Couldn't help also order the Sheng Mian... which is fried noodles in a seafood gravy...

Which was not bad!
