Carnivore

Dinner was to be at Carnivore. Well, Sorina has been asking me to bring her over to Brazil Churrascaria at Sixth Ave after she read my entries on it so i made a mental note to bring her to it on her birthday. However, Sixth Ave is abit out of place and she's working today so i found out that Chijmes has a similar concept place called Carnivore so we went to check it out today instead...

Carnivore...

They had a happy hour promotion whereby if u arrive between 6 - 7 pm, the price is $29.90 +++. Anytime after 7 pm was $39.90. Naturally, we arrived between 6 - 7 pm!

The starters....

Pretty similar to what Brazil Churrascaria has but this one has only got 2 condiments which are not as tasty as the one that Brazil Churrascaria offers.

We first helped ourselves to the soup and salad.

The soup was potato onion soup...

If i recall correctly, Brazil Churrascaria doesnt offer soup. This soup was ok, the normal cream soup.

Their salad bar....

some of the items on the salad bar....

it was the normal salad items. They even had the waldorf salad. haha.. generally the salad bar items were ok.

Den it was the friendly servers who came round with skewers of meat....

Servers were all really friendly and nice.

The meats they had.....

They had almost the same items as Brazil Churrascaria. Taste wise, their roast beef and pineapple were really good. Especially the roast beef.. it was so nicely seasoned. However, for the rest of the items, i thought Brazil Churrascaria's one was better.. like the fish, the chicken and the ham.

In terms of variety, this place also has garlic bread, tenderloin wrapped in bacon and chicken wrapped in bacon which Brazil Churrascaria doesnt have. However, i didnt find the two items that were wrapped in bacon very nice. probably coz it was overcooked, the tenderloin was quite tough.

Overall, the meal was pretty alright though.
