Symmetry
we met up to celebrate squiddy's birthday today. the joint we chose for today was Symmetry.
truffle fries. clammy and crabby said this is the best truffle fries they've had...
i thought it was nice but not my best. haha
squiddy's latte...
we shared a mushroom ball thingy which was super good....
it has a thin batter with minced mushrooms and probably a bit of truffle... its very tasty....
we also had a very awesome flan! i think its pork cheeks flan.. its super good! served in a biscuit like tray with egg a bit of mashed potato like thingy with some cream like thingy. the pork cheek was soooooo tender....
crazy awesome!!
i don't usually wake up for brunch but i think i will do so for symmetry! and you know how many many places are coming up with brunch menu but lai lai qu qu its still the full works of eggs with sausages, maybe some beans or pancakes in the quality that i think i can make at home? well, symmetry just feels different and taste different!
can't remember what this is but i love spinach! cream spinach!!
and their version of the full works... but the taste is just awesome! the sausage is yummy, the scrambled eggs also taste great and i really love the special strawberry jam they have at the side!
its super good! so good that even clammy who initially told us we can only order 2 dishes to share (which is typical of her), requested to order more!
the special home made strawberry jam...
lychee mint...
some strawberry drink that squiddy ordered....

New South Wales 2000,
Australia (Chinatown)
02 9267 6366
this place is quite cool! ordering is done on the ipad!
soup base...
ingredients..
and you know, these chilled noodles are SOOOOOO GOOD!
i think its called fen guo? its sooooo soft, breaks in the mouth and the sauce is mildly spicy with sesame oil ... i love it!
this one is made of like beancurd skin strips...
anyone knows where in singapore we can find these? please let me know!
Sydney Fish Market (Sydney)
first thing on our agenda today was to head to the Sydney fish market!
loads of seafood...
again, Joey googled and found reviews. apparently good reviews were of this Fish Market Cafe... BBQ Grill...
i had oysters again! yummy!
we shared a seafood platter...
and some salmon sashimi...
introduced to this prawn called scampi...
oh and today is also the day when i really do my maths and realise how expensive it is around here in Sydney. U know one normal bottle of soft drink in our sg is probably SGD $2.50 or at most SGD $3? here in aussie its about AUD$4 - AUD$5 which is probably about SGD $5 - SGD $6!

Pancakes On The Rocks (Sydney)
we decided to do desserts elsewhere. Wayne introduced this 24 hours place called Pancakes On The Rocks. Which is why its best to know the locals so they can bring you to places that tourists usually won't know. We were totally thinking that in Sydney, no shops operate after 10pm. haha
THE ROCKS
4 Hickson Rd, The Rocks, Sydney
Trading Hours: 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS A WEEK
Phone: 02 9247 6371 | Fax: 02 9252 2900
Email: therocks@pancakesontherocks.com.au
despite it being around 9 plus pm, there was still quite a queue.
wayne said the pancakes standards were not consistent. sometimes its super good, sometimes its not. we were lucky today coz the pancakes were awesome!
particularly love this one with macadaemia in the pancakes...
super good! the pancakes were thick and fluffy!!
i was told they sell the pancakes mix too and i immediately thought of bear and squirrel! they will so love this!
Cafe Sydney (Sydney)
dinner was at Cafe Sydney...
5th Floor/31 Alfred St
Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
+61 2 9251 8683
joey and shan googled this place to be ranking high on trip advisor. this place has an awesome view! too bad we werent seated outdoors....
i had half a dozen of very fresh oysters (aud $21.50)! yummy!
wagyu carpaccio (aud$27)
the wagyu carpaccio was good. thinly sliced, melts in the mouth!
crab cake (aud$27)...
the crab cake was good too!
for mains, wayne had the pork (aud$39)...
i had the steak (aud $39)...
it was pretty good. the bone marrow was also really yummy.
shan had the duck leg with foie gras sausage...
interesting how they innovate the items. the foie gras sausage was really good.
joey had another kind of steak...
overall, while the meal was nice, i don't think i will be back. prices are way too steep and the food wasnt exactly memorable. maybe i will head back to Aria.
