Seah Street Deli

Lunch was with Lionel at Raffles Hotel.

We actually decided on Long Bar only to realise its not open so we settled for Seah Street Deli....

its a very american concept dining place except that the seats are the very raffles hotel concept (brown wood and marble table) like.

the interior...

the menu...

Theres also an actual jukebox which i didnt manage to take a picture of.

the table setting.....

we shared a tornedo on the bowl ($16.50)...

its a main course portion with sauteed beef, mushrooms, prawns, mussel meat, avocado and bacon.

Lynn and Lionel were the ones who first told me about this item. They described it as a salad with ALOT of beef slices. I've been visualising it since then.. i kinda visualised it till its like some kinda beef bowl and lettuce is merely garnishing! haha.. Today, i didnt find that they had ALOT of beef slices (according to Lionel, they haf reduced the amount of beef) but it was enough. I liked the fact that they have avocado included. But the BEST part was... they had blue cheese as an option of dressing. The blue cheese is SO SO GOOD! hehe. Lionel and myself practically emptied the whole small container they gave us. haha

den we shared a beef pot roast ($16.50)....

its beef in rich brown gravy with mashed potato and root vegetables. The beef was very cooked but didnt taste hard. Tasted ok. The mashed potato was yummy! It may look pain but it tasted good. The root vegetables together with the sauce actually tasted like some kinda tasty chinese soup. haha..

and because i haf a big craving for steak. In fact, throughout dinner and dessert last night, my mind never got off steak and it cracked lionel up quite a bit when i keep telling him im craving for steak.

ribeye steak ($19.50)....

u know how when u cut a steak, u sometimes already can tell whether the steak will taste good or not? well, i knew i was gonna be disappointed.

we ordered it medium rare....

the doneness was right. The taste was good. Just the quality of the steak.. it just didnt taste very tender. But it was alright just that i was craving for really good beef.

the side vegetables were very yummy though! I loved the broccoli and the carrots. Its cooked just nice.. pretty soft yet not overcooked and i loved the almond flakes and abit of sauce they added. Tasted so so good! Love it!

the baked potato was pretty dry though. didnt touch it. in fact, lionel merely polished off the sour cream and left the potato alone. haha...

Lionel ordered the pumpkin tart ...

its a very thin tart. I thot the top looked so cute.. heh.. taste was.. well, its just a sweet dessert.. didnt find it tasting very wonderful.

By the time we were done with the meal and after some chats, the crowd earlier had also left and Lionel prompted me to take another pic because it show looks better now w/o the crowd.....

overall a pretty good meal.
