Basil Alcove

I went over to meet the seafoodies at Basil Alcove. I was early and it didnt help that they were late! heh..

Basil Alcove.....

i was early and Xander was in the midst of preparations...

like i said, im hooked onto appletisers! ordered one while waiting for seafoodies to arrive...

crabby and squiddy arrived almost together followed by fishy den clammy. The rest didnt quite like appletiser except fishy who likes it like i do! haha..

Our orders...

The plain caesar salad....

had wanted to try the fish one (since i've had the plain one for quite a number of times) but realised that the fish one doesnt come with bacon so decided to stick to their plain one.

As i anticipated, the girls loved the salad.

Lea gave me her usual amazed look and said.. " its so good! "

yeah! glad that the girls love it like i do! It was so good we ordered another bowl. But it was kinda weird when we JUST ordered and within like 5 seconds the second bowl was served to us.

For mains, i had a mushroom and bacon aglio olio...

a close up....

this pasta is only $5 plus! Portion is good. Very value for money. Xander is very generous with cheese. But my request for more salt (coz i koe Xander usually doesnt add salt in his cooking) didnt seem to get thru. Not that its tasteless but i generally prefer stronger flavours. The rest of the seafoodies found it really good. This is squiddy and crabby's favourite mains for the night.

clammy ordered the bratwurst with cream pasta..

a closer up view...

costs $7.80. Clammy loved it. She feels dat this is her favourite mains for tonight. haha..

Squiddy and Crabby ordered the Bratwurst Sausage with Balsamic Onions and Dijon Mayo ($8.80)..

as i previously mentioned, this sausage is slightly not as salty as compared to the usual sausages. The side Xander gave this time is not the raisin rice. Its some rice that.. hmm.. dun quite know how to explain the taste.. abit.. lemongrass-ish? Didnt quite go well for us. But i guess taste is subjective, maybe u'll like it. I personally much prefer the previous raisin rice.

Fishy had the Chicken Avocado with Tomato and Peach Chunks ($7.90)...

the girls generally found the avocado paste quite special.
