Hong Kong Street Chun Tat Kee

Hong Kong Street Chun Tat Kee
No. 412 Balestier Road

As per the banner, this place only opened recently (25/8/06). Ah yee and uncle sq had previously raved about this place to me. They described their xo fish slice bee hoon to be very tasty with thick fish slices. Since then, i've been bugging them to bring me there.

Their menu...

We ordered a San Lao ($5) ....

Its filled with lotsa bean sprouts with the hor fun inside...

The taste is very average. The fish was also quite bland. Comparing this to the one at the famous West Coast XO fish head bee hoon, this is is without a doubt, significantly not as good. But really, its not not nice. Just not exceptional.

Prawn paste chicken ($8)..

they are all in forms of wings. Taste is not bad.. quite crispy...along the average standard i guess.

The song fish head ($14)...

This was not bad but i've tasted better.

The xo fish slice bee hoon ($8)...

Quite a big bowl for that price. The fish slice is indeed very thick....

the soup taste was alright but like the san lao, its significantly not as good as the one at West Coast. Have offered to bring ah yee and uncle sq there the next time. But overall, the food here at this stall is actually pretty ok.

Uncle sq and ah yee treated for the meal! Thank cute!
