ATM tea (Bangkok)

At the recommendation of one of my distributor, I tried this ATM bubble tea place nearby my hotel!

Hmm not bad! The sweet potato drink has this mild sweet potato taste! It’s a hot day in bkk!

McDonald’s Black Glutinous Rice Pie (Bangkok)

Not bad.

Lenzi Tuscan Kitchen (Bangkok)

After a fruitful appointment, my partners in Thailand decided we will do lunch here at Lenzi. Apparently the owner, Chef Francesco used to be from one of the hotels here and decided to set up his own restaurant.

For starters, we were served the complimentary bread...

It was a nice and good lunch and catch up with the ladies.

First up was the burrata....

Goes very well with the pesto sauce and of course, the tomatoes!

And a spread of cold cuts!

We also shared a pasta! The pasta was so good! Tomato based with cubes of pork that was tender and bouncy! The flavour was great too!

Khun amp and I shared a tomahawk! The tomahawk was nicely charred with salt on the side and that thyme added the flavour!

What a sight! What a photogenic piece of meat!

It was so good. The staff was adding salt on the sides too as the smoke continued to fade out, very cool!

Dessert was panna cotta and tiramisu!

The tiramisu was SO GOOD! Like really good! Moist cake with some cream and I can taste the coffee oozing out, love it!

Sutyot Kuatiao Rua Payak Noodle (Bangkok)

It is quite a bit of fate how I landed up here for dinner. I have been to bkk so many times but this place never crossed my radar till my friend mentioned it to me recently. So it sort of was added to my list without a planned time. It was sort of a can go can don’t go kind of a place esp since work takes precedence for this trip. Truth is I much rather head back to my room coz my mind is filled with the never ending tasks still outstanding.

Anyways, so back to how I got here! I was dozing off amidst the infamous bangkok jam on my grab, on my way back to the hotel. Somehow I was up and in my half sober state I saw this place. I dazed at the signboard and the uniforms of the people inside....

I looked back on the signboard again and decided to ask my friend if this was it. If this was the boat noodles she mentioned and this is it!

So I asked the driver if I could cut short the trip and it was dinner time anyway so here I was!

The interesting part of the noodles is they have such small portions going at like $12 baht! That’s like 50cents sgd for a bowl of noodles!

A damn cute bowl! So it’s absolutely wonderful for people like me who love variety!

The noodles are flavorful and basically it was fun ordering the different variety!

One more bowl please!

Osia

Brought Mummy for dinner at Osia! Shared a flat bread of mixed flavors. Sundried tomato and garlic Parmesan...

Not a fan of bread but always a fan of their flat bread for the nicely warm bread with the fragrant flavor.

Complimentary from the chef, something like croquette with blue cheese sauce, very good!

Basil purée...

Pretty good! With raw scallop.

And the seafood platter for Mummy....

The seafood platter is a must order every time we are here! The Seafood is nicely charred esp the octopus. It’s a good platter including prawn, lobster, scallop, octopus and a damn yummy pot of clam. The sauce from it is also awesome!

Also had a pork chop to share!

Tender and good!

Soba Factory (Bangkok)

With recommendations, I headed to try the Soba Factory within my hotel. I wanted a quick dinner and I must say I am very lucky the restaurants within Marriott Marquis in Bangkok were all really good!

The menu was not huge, simple but good for me coz i really wanted a quick dinner...

Their Yakitori appears simple but it’s AMAZING!

Really good quality Yakitori! I especially love the pork collar and pork belly. It’s tender, juicy and lightly salted. Omg! One of the best Yakitori ever!

And of coz, soba is a must! I went for the cold soba with chicken soup...

It was great! Except that I found it weird that the chicken sauce is hot and they don’t offer the chilled soya sauce. So the chilled soba is to be added to the hot soup. Hmm then like that what’s the diff between the cold Vs hot soba ya.

But overall it’s a great place! Will be back!

D’Good Cafe

After visiting d’good Cafe previously with joanne and Randal, I quite liked the place and decided to bring Bunny after we ran some errands today!

I like the place for how it’s a cozy cafe and reasonably priced food. The self service piece is a bit tedious but the staffs were generally nice. For the prices I won’t complain.

First time to introduce will be the tomato cream sauce striploin pasta...

The sauce was really nice. Tomato cream based and the striploin was tender with a generous amount of mushroom.

Also has a meatball marinara...

Which in our view was just ok. Rather homecooked kind of feel.

The scrambled egg muffin was da bomb!

This was SO GOOD! The eggs were nicely scrambled and the muffin was nothing like what u have at McDonald’s. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, a must try! A bit steep at $8 but Bunny said she can easily pop 2 of these.

I also ordered the portobello mushroom eggs Ben again coz I like that they had no buns or starch!

Bunny’s maple latte...

We also went for the pancake which seems to be really special. Looks more like egg omelette! And they have savoury ones so we went for the Parma ham and rock melon...

I’d say I like the texture of the pancakes but I didn’t like the sauce they had with this one. It was lemonish in flavour and it just tasted weird as a combi for us.

But overall I do still like the cafe and most of the food, will want to get back to try more!
