Sistina

Joanne celebrated my birthday for me today.

we got to Chip Bee Gardens and i was telling Joanne i wana try Michelangelo's but she insisted Sistina was better so it was Sistina we went.

the outdoor seats....

the interior.....

the complimentary bun....

the mushroom soup....

we not bad, on the saltish side but not marvellous.

we shared an Antipasto "Frutti de Mare" - for two Persons (House Special and Chef Recommendation). Its a selection of local lobster tails, marinated tiger prawns, scallop and butterflied fresh calamari servedd sizzling hot with your choice of sauce in a zesty tomato sauce OR garlic sauce.. costs $42....

a closer up view....

this item came totally different from what we had expected. I dun really see how this can be a special.. its just seafood in cream sauce. I mean i agree the sauce was nice but we expected the seafood to be in larger quantity given the price they charge. Also, we expected it to be seperated from the sauce.. with the sauce by the side to be dipped. And the lobster tail they mentioned never appeared. they probably got replaced by the prawns. its totally not worth it and while it was not bad, its not something that made me wow or wana return for it.

pasta wise i had a Tagliatelle with beef in blue cheese cream sauce....

its not on the menu.. the one on the menu is supposed to be wif mushroom but i requested for it to be changed to beef. The blue cheese sauce was mild which was disappointing for me.. the beef was not tender, another disappointment.

desserts wise, i had a tiramisu ($12)....

i'd say the tiramisu is not bad.. the bottom cake area was soaked wif coffee... its pretty good.

Joanne had the chocolate fudge cake ($12)....

didnt find it wonderful but pretty alright.

Overall, i didnt find the Sistina experience good. It was expensive and i felt like there wasnt anything dat i'd like to order on the menu. Dun think i'd wana be back.

Jo treated.. thank cute Jo!
