Cafe - Mr Beans

Mr Beans @ Selegie....

The interior of the place...

We took seats inside.

Our orders...

Sonia and Elyn both ordered the set meals.. pretty value for money ($13.80). Comes with soup of the day, main course, dessert (ice cream) plus a coffee, tea or soft drink.

They upgraded their soup of the day to a seafood soup (+$3) as recommended by Diane...

The seafood soup is a rather spicy ketchup based soup. Diane likes it alot hence she highly recommended it. Sonia finds it really spicy. Myself, maybe because im not into really spicy stuff, i don't particularly fancy it but i know for a fact that this soup of theirs is rather popular.

For mains, sonia ordered the chicken chop under Elyn's recommendation....

The chicken chop is nothing to shout for. I guess the girls found it pretty alright but there is this taste about it that i dont quite like. It is served with wedges. Initially, based on its appearance, we all thought the wedges should not taste good. In fact, we thot it'd probably be very dry. But after trying, realised the wedges are actually quite nice... the potato is abit fluffy and the outside is crispy.

Elyn ordered the chicken cutlet coz Sonia wants to try the cutlet (haha)...

The chicken cutlet was not nice. Very blend. I think the western food stall opposite my place sells even better chicken cutlets.

The dessert for their set meal is ice cream...

As for Diane and Lea, they shared a caesar salad...

Their caesar salad comes with the option of adding either grilled chicken ($2) or smoked salmon ($3). Diane who was having cravings for tuna asked if they can add tuna flakes for her instead. The server came out saying that tuna flakes will be added at a cost of $5. Sounds pretty absurb isnt it? In the end she opted for the plain caesar salad and we found the kitchen pretty not flexible.

All the girls found the caesar salad not bad except me (so maybe its me). I guess i found it not very tasty, sauce is abit too light. I feel that i've tasted better. But then again, Diane is right, if the sauce is too thick or so, it defeats the purpose of having salad? So i guess its pretty subjective.

They also shared a country pie ($7)...

Love their country pie. Coffee club serves the same country pie. Its a 3 layer pie. Bottom is chicken chunks, carrots and maybe some other vege in a soupy form (when i first tried it a few years ago, i felt that it tastes like our home cooked potato and carrot soup)... the second layer is a layer of mashed potato followed by the top layer which is melted cheese...

Yummy!
