Ikoi

after work, i was quite excited! i'm meeting my 2 fav bois from amk for dinner! i like how we toked about it and really put it into action. they were raving to me about this japanese restaurant at miranma hotel. we fixed a date to head down today and we really did. Alvin even made the reservations!

Ikoi....

actually aside from them, i also heard quite a lot of other raves about how good the buffet here is.

the place is really small though. lotsa counter seats.

the charges and timings...

the comprehensive menu....

to begin, we were offered salmon starters...

really soft and creamy salmon sashimi!

fresh vegetables....

love their cherry tomatoes! the lady server (if i recall correctly, her name is elaine) was super nice! her service was awesome.. she remembers us by name and kept giving us loads of specials. she was so good we wrote her a compliment letter thereafter.

the thick and fresh sashimi slices....

chawanmushi....

and the male chef who was also really nice to us. very entertaining and shared a lot of info with us.. also prepared quite a number of special dishes for us....

fried tofu...

grilled salmon...

grilled mackerel...

chilled noodles...

i forgot the name of the noodles but its really good. the texture, thickness and temperature. SLURP SLURP! its good!

den the miso with cucumber...

quite a unique dish, never tried it before.

the very yummy fried rice!

katsu....

yakitori...

fried fish cake with cheese...

oyako don...

tempura...

tempura prawns...

chicken karage...

beef curry rice....

the beef curry is really good! and its fabulous dat the portions are small. we're very pleased with the variety.

and the fried chicken wings....

this is mama mia! i think its really good! very crispy bbq wings and the taste is simply fab!

and because the service was so fabulous, when she introduced us the sake, we were all nods! besides, great company always welcomes good alcohol!

and den the male chef was sharing wif us... this sake we are having is only for singles coz its called ku qi de nu ren (sobbing woman)...

drink already those wif partners will end up sobbing! hahahha.. thank god we are all single!

the sake was really smooth. the male server even taught us how to drink it to really feel the smoothness and its taste.

tomato with bacon...

stewed meat n vegetables...

the radish and carrot was so flavoursome!

ramen..

also really yummy! tender charsiew and really tasty soup!

den leme show u the different 'specials' we had for the night. i teased alvin and johnson for charming the server which resulted in our 'specials' for tonight and i said next time whenever i want specials, i shall just show the servers their pictures!

we literally recounted the specials we had for tonight!

salmon soup...

cooked with salmon cheeks!

some fishcake thingy that was apparently also not on the menu, very yummy!!

seared tuna...

and i cant really remember what this is but its some very special fish belly.... damn soft!

hotate and jelly fish....

the really really really good sweet potato tempura....

its saltish on the outside and sweet inside.. texture is also just nice!

and i requested for tamago w/o the rice.. they gave it to me on exceptional basis, again thanks to alvin and johnson! hahaha

salmon cheeks again..

and because i said i liked the cherry tomatoes!

the very tip top service server and my fav bois...

seriously, we were overwhelmed by her services! the bois urged me to be the representative to write her a compliment letter which i did.. n a very long one i wrote...

last but not least, we also shared sherbet.. pomelo sherbet...

its so fine! totally addictive! johnson reminded me that sherbet is usually quite rough but this one is really really really smooth. super good!

i totally enjoyed the dinner, the food, the service and most importantly, the company for tonight!

Thank cute bois!
