Steak - Angus House (my birthday celebration)

Today, Humbert's celebrating my birthday for me. He made reservations for Angus House at Ngee Ann City at 7 pm.

Angus House....

Few nights ago as we were discussing over MSN, Humbert said i shall haf Wagyu steak. While waiting for him to arrive, i was flipping thru the menu by the door and i saw the price for wagyu beef....

It shocked me for awhile and i quickly smsed me... " are u sure im having wagyu beef? "

The wagyu beef costs like $100 for 200 grams?

Angus was pretty nice in the interior. We got seats by the window overlooking the busy Orchard Road....

The ambience was pretty good.

He looked at the price of Wagyu beef and he got shocked as well but he said yes, i can haf wagyu beef.

He ordered the king prawns.

We ordered the set meals so we din hafta headache about what soup what starters.

We were first served bread and butter...

For starter, we were served cod fish....

the cod fish was very good! Yummy~ but portion was small.. heh.. dats coz we're big eaters!

Next was the soup...

the soup was ok.. not very sure what cream soup it is.. probably pumpkin.

Next was the salad...

comes in those japanese dressing dats slightly sour. I like.

Den my wagyu beef came!

It was THICK! And really tender! Damn good! We tried to ask the server whats so special about wagyu beef. Apparently wagyu beef is like kobe beef. Just dat kobe beef comes from Japan whereas Wagyu beef comes from Australia. The special thing about them is that the cows are actually being massaged and fed beer.

Next to arrive was his king prawns...

it din look very king-ish to me... just 4 normal sized prawns sliced into 2. How can anyone ever be full having just 3 pieces of prawns? and he complained about the prawns not being fresh coz the meat was sticking to the shell. I tried a bite and it was seriously just normal. I din want to take more also coz i think its confirm not enuff for him. haha..

next to arrive was desserts... dessert was some mango moose cake. When the server told us it was mango cake, he impressed me by telling the server that i don't take mango and asked if there was any replacement they could offer. In the end, i chose the vanilla ice cream.......

He frowned at the mango moose cake. haha... i guess mango lovers would like it but not us.

The vanilla ice cream was nice! Humbert said its haagen daz ice cream. It came wif this sweet piece of almond covered biscuit waffle.. very nice! It had real almond nuts in it!
