Arabic - Samar (First visit)

We took a cab down to somewhere around Arab street because Meina was so sweet? She wanted to fulfill my long awaited conquest of Shi Sha!

Samar is the name of the place.

The exterior of Samar....

Sorina was already whining and saying that she regrets coming here. haha... she was frowning away and complaining about the smell of the place. Meina also didn't like the smell but strangely i didn't really feel the smell.

This is the interior of the place..

This is the menu of Samar.

We were already quite full but we decided that since we are here, we should try abit of the food. We had wanted to play safe and order chicken wings. But after much debates and hesistation we decided to be more 'adventurous' and order something uncommon....

Potato cutlet. Its somewhat like potato wedges and fresh tomatoes topped with melted cheese.

We also saw the server serving this big round ball to other tables. We all thought it was some chocolatey dessert only to realise its beef kebab. Out of curiousity, we ordered it as well.

Its a big round ball of beef. The beef isnt beef patty style but really threads of beef and its covered with milk (which originally appeared like vanilla sauce over chocolate ball to us) Inside the round ball of beef was a small round ball of tasteless bread. Overall it was.. erm.. not to our liking. We barely finished half of it.

N for drinks, to play very safe, Meina and Sorina ordered Ice Mountain! haha! $1.50 each.

I ordered a apple ice blended drink which was Peel Fresh apple juice + sugar syrup + ice blended. I found it tooooooo sweet but Meina and Sorina found it just nice. I would much prefer if they just gave me a cuppa Peel fresh apple juice. haha.

Finally it was shisha! They haf different flavours. Apple, Vanilla, Strawberry, Mixed Fruit, Cappucino, Chocolate and i cant remember. We chose Apple. Each shisha is about $14-$15.

Along with the shisha, we were given a plastic cap each for hygiene purposes to cover over the tube of the shisha.

we were all trying very hard and very unsure if we were doing it right. The smell wasn't very pleasant. We were wondering if the taste we experienced was more of the plastic smell from the plastic cap or were we doing it correctly coz we couldnt feel anything.

We were testing and trying obviously appearing helpless and sua ku that the owner and the staffs seated in the table beside was coaching us.

We were told that we should be breathing in hard enough. The way to see if we are doing it correctly is by seeing if there are any bubbles at the bottom.

Meina settled the bill and we took a picture with the general manager of Samar who's a very friendly and nice to talk to lady.

Thank you Meina and Sorina for such a wonderful night.
