Tom's Palette

we decided to adjourn for ice cream right next door at Tom's Palette...



right when we were observing, i was excited over this flavour...



wow! salted egg yolks!

like most ice cream places, they allow you to try their flavours but unlike other places, i find the guys here really friendly, sincere AND happy to have you try their different ice cream flavours. Sometimes you just can feel it right? when you try a little too much you feel paiseh too but these guys are just so friendly and eager to recommend. so nice!

i chose the salted egg yolk and the hazelnut latte. the salted egg yolk one really taste like salted egg yolk!

shuping had a sizzle thingy which has the old school candy sizzling thingy inside. also really special.

and service was excellent. when i ordered a bottled water, the guys actually highlighted to me that they had free flow water at the side and i can help myself. so nice!

Creation Cafe

met up with shuping for dinner. she has long recommended this place called creation at shaw (the beach road that shaw)...




i told her i have cravings for carbonara lately and she said their carbonara is really good.

we ordered one set.. pricing wise, they are decent.

it was yummy!

and we couldnt decide on the next.... today is one of the days where i feel like cream, i feel like squid ink, i feel like aglio olio, i feel like ravioli, i feel like everything!

we decided on ravioli in seafood squid ink...



it was also really good!

dessert was brownie...



also decent.

Sakuraya Fish Mart

lunch at Sakuraya....



and yes! u guessed it right! sperm! taste.. hmm.. try it urself.





really like their scallops.

still don't think much of their service.

Crystal Cafe

crystal cafe again. cheap and decent.

i would say they are one of the better ones in terms of teochew porridge buffet!

tried the EAT satay bee hoon coz ferlyn said her husband finds it really good. and it kind of triggered me that i've not had satay bee hoon for many years....



its decent.

Cafe Cartel

after the cartel meal with brian the other day, im not over cartel, particularly the carbonara so i roped victor and cynthia to do dinner there with me!

the soup of the day for their soup..



i like their garlic bread!

Itacho

cynthia texted to ask me out. She sure knows how to tempt me by offering a treat to itacho. so brian drove me over.
we got there by almost 8 but there was still a queue!

we shared a crab meat chawanmushi...

and saba...



good saba actually tastes soft and u can really feel the natural oil of the fish.

Cafe Cartel

brian drove me over to IMM for my appointment and we did lunch there. saw cafe cartel, been so long since i had cafe cartel!!

i was not over the carbonara at billy bombers last night so i made him eat the carbonara (hehe)...



carbonara here was even better than billy bombers. even brian thinks its nice. its really yummy!

as for myself, i was still torn between the hawaiian pork chops or the pan fried linguine or the chicken chop... but i ended up with the set lunch coz its quite a cheap deal.

comes with soup and bread....




the garlic bread was really yummy!

decent though i kind of still miss their pork chops.

and i made him share east side brownie stack with me!



one of my all time favourite dessert from cafe cartel. standards have dropped but its a good fix to chocolate and ice cream cravings.

Billy Bombers

we had wanted to do itacho but the queue was mad long so we settled for billy bombers. havent had billy bombers for a long while.
i went for their steak...



the steak was decent, i like the creamed spinach and i changed the potato salad to mashed potato. overall, nice.

carbonara...



quite nice also!

BBQ Box

Victor introduced this place along geylang lorong 3... BBQ Box..



reminds me a little of another china bbq place that bernard introduced a couple of years back along this stretch. that bbq place seems to have closed down though.






even the beer is china beer!

the beancurd skin is quite nice.

the different bbq items...















overall most items were nice. especially the pork. the beancurd skin bbq is a little disappointing because the other one that bernard brought me to is a little nicer. but overall nice.
