Hofbrauhaus (Germany)

Lunch at this place called hofbrauhaus...









its like a brewery.. very pretty on the instead and the tables there are like what we have in school canteens.. tables and benches...



be prepared to share tables!



the band was playing, reminding me of Paulaner's during oktoberfest...



their menu...




 alcohol free beer...



it really tasted like beer minus the alcohol.. or should i say very minimal alcohol content.


Boiled pork knuckles...



it was nice! it was very tender although i didnt dare to eat the boiled skin.

potato gratin...



which was not bad.

their pickled vegetable thingy...



boiled sausages...



a bit gerlard for me although its boiled. i think i prefer the pan fried ones.

Hotel Orly (Germany)

i love breakfast buffets! tons of ham, cheese, scrambled eggs...






and they are big on nutella!!



and i particularly liked that they had the balls of cheese...



usually these would cost quite a bit in restaurants!

Cosmopolitian (Germany)

Cosmopolitian (a restaurant located at the main station of frankfurt)...


ordered a beef goulash and it turns out to be a super big bowl...



just to give u a perspective of what i mean by super big bowl... its even bigger than the plate of the main dish!



the beef goulash soup was not bad. lots of peppers and looks a bit like ma la soup but much less spicy. they add traces of sour cream on top which looks a bit like tofu on our sze chuan soup. haha

for mains, it was a schnitzel pork chop...



the fries were yummy! the pork chop was nice too. it wasnt super tender but it was decent in texture. the batter was just nice and slightly salted, yummy!




the spinach tortellini was another enormous portion...



the tortellini was just decent.

the view from the restaurant overlooking the train station is quite nice...

Germany Christmas Market in Frankfurt

passed by a xmas market which totally psyched me up!


so this is the xmas market everyone was telling me about!! its a bit like our pasar malam but western style!




decided to try some of the street food. there was this stall selling some pancake like thingy...


 had some cheese flavour. its quite crispy and the cheese on top is a little of the sweet kind. its an interesting item!

also went on to the famous german sausages...

and some mushroom stew thingy ....



the sausage was decent... i didnt find it much different from what we can find here in singapore. the mushroom was damn good!! creamy sauce and all. yummy!


and at almost every xmas market you can find a stall selling wine. its called mulled wine...



its really really good! its warm and sweet. totally good for the cold weather! and because their cups are really pretty, they force a deposit on patrons.. so if you attempt to bring the cups home, you basically forsake your deposit.


look! everyone has a cup on their hands!



and there was this other booth selling chocolate coated fruits and nuts...



i thought for awhile before choosing a stick of round things which turned out to be cherries and turned out to be SUPER GOOD!!!




the cherries are SUPER SWEET!! i SUPER LIKEY!!

Little Saigon (Germany)

 Little Saigon...






their buffet is only Eur 6.50 per person!

the food is was not bad. they have quite a few dishes of meat (pork, fish and chicken) but mostly fried...




and the fried rice...

Wiener Feinbaecker (Germany)

this is a salami sandwich...



its yummy! although im not a bread person but its really good. its got butter, salami and cucumber inside. because of the cold weather, the butter doesn't really melt.. its really quite good.

Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is the way to go for long flights. Lesson learnt after my previous USA trip.

shortly after getting on the plan, a menu was served to let me choose my meal when it is to be served.

i chose the beef brisket...



it was yummy!! so were the mashed potatoes accompanying it.

the turkey salad was ok but was a nice touch to the xmas season.

there was ample onflight entertainment.. movies which i've not caught. i caught a brainless HK comedy and watched a couple of episodes of How i met your mother, 2 and a half men and slept most of the flight away.

i keep hearing people get upgraded to business class. how come it never happens to me?

for my next meal, i opted for fish with mashed...



the fish was not as wow-ing as the beef earlier but it was decent.

Cafe Cartel

lunch with brian at cartel because i told him i miss cartel.

we went for the set lunch!

the garlic bread goes very well with the chicken soup. yummy.

we both really like their carbonara. both today's one is nice but not wow-ing! haha

i really like their chicken chef salad! their chicken is yummy and the stripes of cheese and ham!

Saizeriya

for dinner, dar dar asked to go to Saizeriya. We went to the one at City Square Mall.

their food has maintained the cheap yet good standards!

mozerrella cheese with cherry tomatoes...

seafood chowder....



on the menu, they said their seafood chowder has marvellous taste. i think its fine, not to the extent of marvelous .. haha

but i do love their menu, filled with pictures!! loads of delicious looking pictures of their food.

decent but not something i'd order.

dar ordered the squid ink coz she was missing the one from Modestoes.. i had already warned her that i didnt like their squid ink. haha...



she agreed with me after trying!

the chicken is a big piece and its tender. pork is nice but a lil oily. how i miss their pork salad!!
