Seafood Paradise

mr & mrs lil bee came to pick me up. We were supposed to go for dinner at Wan Tou Shek but they said they're bringing me for crab @ Defu Lane.

Seafood Paradise
91 Defu Lane
10
Swee Hin Building
Tel: 6487 2429

we ordered the venison fried kway teow...

its really good! its a bit like fried kway tiao, a bit sweet... quite tasty. lil bee and i felt dat its good, sunantha felt dat its just ok.

and the crab is kinda wat we specially came here for.. their special cream sauced crab....

its pretty good! and they seem to have pretty big crabs (like No Signboard). we ordered the small crab and its already quite a good size. The cream sauce is quite nice, good to dip the man tou in...

i was also very excited about a crispy suckling chicken when i saw it on the menu....

i thought it would be a very crispy skin chicken wif very tender juicy meat. turns out i was very very disappointed. the skin was probably crispy but because of the sauce, its not as crispy anymore. the meat was not chicken meat.. or maybe it was but it turned out to be some kinda paste, like fish cake... so boring!

garlic kai lan...

not bad!

The meal came up to around 70 odd. based on the crab and kway teow, i think its pretty good food and i'd wana bring my parents here.

Gobi

we went to Gobi to get Anna's farewell gift...

got a box of 12 for her!

Carol and myself shared a box of mini macroons...

shared it wif the rest. its pretty good! i personally like the white and pink one! white one is a little milky, pink one is probably rose or strawberry. the green one is minty chocolate and orange one is orange.

Marutama Ramen

Lunch @ Marutama Ramen with Carol & Paulyn

my char siew ramen wif stewed pork....

Carol's char siew ramen...

Paulyn's ramen...

the egg...

the ramen today didnt impress me like my first visit. the soup was ok but didnt find it like really tasty. the char siew seemed thinner. the stewed pork was still good though. Carol kept telling me that Tam Poh Poh's black pig ramen is much much much better. haha

the gyoza...

didnt find the gyoza impressive.

Unique Seafood Market

Seafood with nuasters @ Turf City's Unique seafood market because Andy zai told us they haf 50% off on weekdays....

they were already choosing the seafood when i got there... apparently the really qi guai kind are quite expensive so we sticked to the usual ones. haha..

the tanks of seafood reminds me of those seafood places u see in hongkong....

so fun! can pick den they'll cook for u!

they told me they chose the smaller oysters and wana haf them cheese baked. I specially requested a bigger one to be taken FRESH... loh gong zai said owing to my special encounter earlier, he allows me to haf this and split the bill... haha.. wif him and his jokes, its really hard to remain affected!

my supposedly bigger fresh oyster...

its bigger but not very very big. the scallop part of it was really sweet though! costs ard $4.40 each.

the cheese baked oysters ($1.60)....

its ok.. but we all agreed dat the former Music Underground's baked oysters are still the best we've ever had.

Oyster sauce kai lan ($18)....

note that vegetables are not subjected to the 50% discount. The kai lan was pretty good though. Very fresh and big! and surprise surprise! our andy has started to take vegetables now! haha..

gong bao frog leg ($14)....

we had 4 frog legs... tastes pretty good.

south africa abalone ($56)..

we had 7 pieces so works out to about $8 per piece... cheap cheap cheap... and though im not an abalone person, $8 per piece is a bit hard to reject. haha... we had one piece each! not bad not bad.. quite fresh!

sea white prawns ($36)....

its about 1 kg of prawns cooked drunken style.... the soup was very nice.. prawns are good too especially since i had a personal peeler. hehe.. thank cute andy!

Soon hock ($45)....

both loh gong zai and i agreed dat soon hock is one of our favourite fish! this soon hock is pretty decent also.

sri lanka crabs ($33)... we ordered about 1.7kg of crabs... 3 crabs in total.

2 was done black pepper style...

was not bad but im not much of a black pepper crab person.

one was cooked wif salted egg.........

LOVE IT! the salted egg sauce is so good! can taste the slightly powdery salted egg coated all over the shell... yum yum!!

overall, loh gong zai liked the food and of coz the price and he said dat this will become a monthly affair for nuasters! yay! haha

Marmalade Pantry

went for a late lunch wif Carol and because i know im gonna haf a scrumptious seafood dinner tonight we only went for desserts!

the interior of marmalade pantry...

we had a nutella cupcake.....

hehe.. nutella cupcake holds special meaning to me! hee...

i think its yummilious! its one of the not as colourful looking but good tasting cupcakes!

the server saw us spoilt for choice and recommended us the lemongrass and mango crumble....

check this out....

Carol's expression says it all....

hahhaa...

we polished off everything....

its true! although im not a mango person, the crumble is SO DARN GOOD! i particularly loved the pastry parts!

Bandung Martabak

Carol and Sorina arrived with breakfast for me!

i call it the everything in sandwich....

its got ham, egg, cheese and lotsa ai xin... hahaha... its nice!

Kyotosabo Ajiteh

Dinner with dear dear and Chris at Kyotosabo Ajiteh.

we all decided we didnt want mains so we ordered alot of small dishes to share....

the items were kinda decent. the sweet potato was very good. so good dat chris and dear dear went ahead to order another plate! the cream sauce fish was not bad also.. the cream sauce was nice. the rest of the items were decent.

chris treated.. thank cute!

Hong Fu

Lunch with Carol at a coffee shop along Philip Street.

i had curry noodles from a stall...

its called Hong Fu.. but below it wrote Home Cook.. seemed to rhythm with Hong Fu.. or were they trying to say its home cooked food? haha.. anyway, my curry chicken noodles....

its not bad in my view. curry is quite thick and not very spicy. chicken was drum meat... couldnt finish the noodles.
