Some sour pork ribs thingy dat was really quite sour. Taste was alright.

Some roast chicken which was not bad.

A crab dish.. i didnt eat it coz was lazy to shell it.

Century egg porridge. Taste was ok.

Western - Checkers

Had dinner at Checkers. Truth is i love the food at Checkers. It used to be Denny's. Its located at Shenton way opposite Temasek Tower.

Anyway so we ordered.. or rather, i ordered..

Cheese sticks to share...

it was ok. Mozzeralla cheese.

and of coz, the hashbrown sides...

they all agreed it tastes good. Uncle sq said dat it tastes even better den Marche's rosti! lol

and we din realise until the server told us that any item above 11.50 will come as a set. Meaning theres a salad and free flow of soup....

The salad was not bad. Soup was just ok.

I ordered a surf and turf chicken....

Standards are still there. I just love their surf and turf. I like it even though its sauceless so i guess its a personal preferance. Fish is juicy. Actually their previous fish is preferred for me. Chicken is also nice and tender with baked potato.

I also ordered their garlic chicken spaghetti...

love it! the tender chicken chop and the garlic sauce is so good! Taste is strong. I really really like its! Tasty!

They ordered a dessert each....

Ping jie jie ordered a hot fudge peppermint. I believe she likes it.

Ah yee had a strawberry ice cream sundae. Would prefer it if the ice cream was vanilla instead of also strawberry. Feels too strawberrish. But love the sauce coz it has got real strawberry in the sauce!

Uncle sq ordered a waffle ice cream.

HongKong Cafe - Crystal Jade Macau

Macau style Crystal Jade located at the basement of Bugis Junction.

The interior.....

Milk tea...

taste had a slight bitter taste. Not to my liking though others might like it.

I ordered 3 bread items.

I ordered a french toast...

Taste was not bad with the melted butter and their sweet syrup.

But i only had like two to three mouth.

Also ordered the cream bun...

The inside of it..

The bun is the hard kind which i dun like. The cream inside tasted like peanut butter with condensed milk or even butter. Was ok but i din quite like it. Barely finished half of it.

And a porkchop and cheese sandwich...

End up only having the pork chops and the cheese. The pork chop was really nice. Very tender. Din know pork can be so so tender, almost like chicken.

Western - New York New York (First visit)

New York New York.... located inside City Link Mall replacing the former Nooch...

Their menu....

and they serve breakfast...

and its all day breakfast may i add?

Dearest ordered this chunky vegetable soup....

Cynthia was teasing saying it looks very bo hua. Costs ard $4.90 or $5.90?

Shihui and dearest shared a freedom fries with melted cheese and sour cream...

find it ok but nothing special. Costs $6.90. Not very expensive for restaurant pricing but if u compare it to KFC's cheese fries, it is pretty steep.

They also shared a Irish traditional potato salad (honestly, abit boring)...

Costs $5.90 but portion was really small though pretty cheap for restaurant pricing. Although, taste was again nothing fantastic.

They also shared a Manhattan Smoked Salmon salad...

shihui insists dat i specify here to warn everyone NOT to order it. haha.. this costs $ 11.90. Their complain is again, portion is really small. I tried the smoked salmon it was not bad. Again, if u ask me, for restaurant pricing i thought the price was still ok but if u compare it to cafe cartel's salad den theres really a pretty significant difference in terms of portion and taste.

As for me, i ordered their big big breakfast....

costs $10.90 but they all felt it looks so much more worth it as compared to their orders. It came with mushrooms, bacon, tomato, pancakes, eggs and sausages.

The mushrooms were ok. The bacon was really nice. I liked it considering im not much of a bacon love. The level of crispyness was just nice. The tomato was not bad also. The pancake din come with butter or any syrup (had to request for it). Eggs were.. well, just eggs. I personally din quite like the taste of the sausages (but its subjective, u may like it).

Liping had initially ordered fish and chips but her order was not taken so she changed her order to big big breakfast as well.

Cynthia ordered some Roasted chicken with penne pasta...

The penne was pretty hard. Taste was ok, not too bad.

But honestly (ok, maybe we ordered the wrong items), i find the food items all erm.. not fantastic. Not dat they are horrible but just not really tasty. It tastes like something that u can find it anywhere else, nothing really special.

I also ordered a new york peach cooler...

cost ard $5.90.

Something interesting though, they haf this candy floss machine in the restaurant!

u can twist and make ur own candy floss!

HongKong Cafe - Tong Shui

Tong Shui is located at 54 Zion Road, facing Great World City...

Tong Shui....

The interior of the place....

Very bright colours and lotsa chinese decorations.

The menu...

Their chee cheong fan section really has quite a combination....

i noticed this one with chinese fritters rolled inside only after i ordered...

For drinks i ordered the ba bao cha (eight treasure tea)...

i thought it'll be somewhat like the previous Yi Pao Er Hong's ba bao cha which is sweetened but sadly its not. In fact its pretty different. This is under their chef's recommendation but i somehow didn't quite like it. Quite a waste actually coz it came in a pretty big jug. Although i din like it, maybe u guys would.

I immediately asked them to bring away the ba bao cha and i reordered a iced milk tea...

the iced milk tea was not bad.

and the chee cheong fan i ordered came wif egg and shrimp dumpling...

Details of the chee cheong fan...

The egg was just fried egg, the shrimp dumpling was crispy and hot but i din quite like it. I mean its not bad but the skin is somewhat like springroll skin so its pretty tasteless (not like wanton skin) and the filling is fish paste (i think) or maybe it is prawn paste but somehow its not those big chunks of prawn kind which i like so dats why i didnt quite like it. The chee cheong fan was not bad with sweet sauce and sesame seeds. But i din feel dat it was to shout for.

I also ordered a fish baked rice. Apparently they are pretty famous for their baked rice as well.

half of the baked rice was in cream sauce (which i liked) and the other part was in tomato sauce (which i found just ok.. but of coz, this is very subjective). The fish thickness was good and taste was not bad. But comparatively i kinda prefer the taste of Central HK cafe's fish baked rice (But Central's standards seemed to haf dropped lately).

Also had their toast..

Ordered the peanut butter with condensed milk toast...

Its so so good. Especially the corners where its crispy and somewhat salty yet sweet. Love the combination!

Cafe - Coffee Club

Went for dinner at Hotel Rendezvous Coffee Club.

Recommended ping jie jie to try their country pie...

I opted to try their crusted dory gremolata

Its crisply baked dory topped with herbed and lemon scented crumbs, served with a chorizo mashed potato with a homemade parsley and poached egg sauce. The dory fish was juicy and the potato had sausage and ham in it. I like it.

Was having a dilemma about which dessert to order coz i noticed they haf this lychee panna cotta dessert. i like panna cotta, i like lychee too but im not to sure about placing the two together. Otherwise theres also the safe choice of the hazelnut nougat which im pretty sure ping jie jie will like. Later, after the green light given by ping jie jie, we ordered both!

The hazelnut nougat....

True enuff, ping jie jie liked it!

And the lychee panna cotta...

Others - The Cathay Ice Cream

We still had some time before our movie at The Cathay and we were at this snacks shop and they sell chilli ice cream...

but we din buy it to try.

We bought these....

The strawberry ice cream in the above picture is so damn nice. On the exterior is a coat of vanilla white chocolate like layer and the inside is a strawberry yoghurt like ice cream. Its so so good. The bean ice cream was nothing to shout for.
