Pu Tien
after work i headed for dinner with Mr Tan and diana. We went to Pu Tien at Marina square.
had their cockles...
the cockles are quite disappointing actually. i remember the first time i had them at their HQ, the cockles are big and fresh! today's ones are really small.
some century egg dish...
i think its nice! very nicely done!
meat buns....
also quite yummy!
diana strongly recommended this yam dish..
its yam coated with a layer of sugar like thingy. its not bad but i find it a bit filling. haha
and their signature xing hua bee hoon...
a 3 eggs spinach...
overall the dinner was fine but i just cant help feeling that the standards are not on par to their HQ's.

Ristorante Bologna
i chose ristorante bologna coz:
1. i love italian food!
2. 50% off for 2 diners!
every successful OCBC credit card gives you a meritus mandarin dining benefits card and for every 2 diners, there is a 1 for 1!
so there i was at marina mandarin...
the buffet spread....
there was pasta of many kinds, cheese sauce, baked lasagna, ravioli, etc etc (making me crazy!)
meat and seafood!
the braised beef is sooooooooo damn good! the salmon as well! doneness was just right!
salad...
some italian rice ball thingy...
cold cuts...
the free flow of parma really really really excited me!
desserts..
pretty desserts which by the end of the meal, i could barely stuff any of it in!
and the best part abt the lunch here is, you get to choose if you only want to buffet items or you can also choose to order a mains. the steak and foie gras item totally just made meina and me salivate and since its one for one, its totally cheap!
steak was done medium rare...
foie gras was a good portion...
it was truly a good lunch!

they shared a truffle fries or cheese fries like thingy...
thought was ok coz wasnt really into fries.
my starter of a crab meat ball...
didnt quite like the spices they used. cannot taste the flavour of the crab meat although i'd say they were quite generous w the portion of crab meat used.
aunty lu's beef stew....
darn good!
cant remember what dish this is...
uncle joo's salmon...
which was pretty good also. doneness was just right and had some potato thingy below which went very well with the cream sauce.
ah yee's lamb skewers...
me don't take lamb!
i had some crab tart thingy....
lesser crab meat den the crab ball earlier... has some lemon grass taste i think. overall was ok but not fantastic. i should haf gone for the beef stew which was fabulous!
for desserts we shared the carrot cake...
and the banana cake...
the carrot cake was ok.. but the banana cake was great!
