Joey and Ishan recommended this place at Robertson Quay - Incontro....
located along the stretch where Shunjuu and Liang Kee is...
the interior...
probably because of the very big open doors, the indoors didnt feel very air-conditioned either.
the decor pretty much reminded me of the very westernised cellars and fireplaces... i think this place is pretty big on wine.
one of the server (whom we think is probably also the lady boss) was very friendly and was very patient in explaining their different items to us when we were deciding on the cold cut....
the different different ham they had...
to begin, we were served some complimentary bread...
den our cold cut platter arrived ($20)...
a closer up look of the different items...
it was simply fabulous! Most of the ham items were yum. I paticularly loved their buffalo cheese with tomatos! the texture was good!
and of coz, MY FAVOURITE PAMMA HAM!!
on rock melon! also part of the platter!
I love love love pamma ham.
i suspect the lady boss was actually nice enuff to customise the platter above for us. usually its actually 5 different types of ham. I love it so much. i so wana head back for it!
for mains, we shared the following. Ishan was raving to me dat they have the best vongole that she has ever tried...
it really was not bad. the pasta texture was good.. generous amount of clams and most importantly, the taste of the white wine sauce.. it was not overpoweringly strong yet flavoursome. It was good.
steak...
omg.. their steak was really really good! the mashed potato went so so well with the sauce! the beef was flavoursome and had dat oomph!
den it was the lasagne...
it was not wowing on first bite but the tastes gets to u. in fact, we never realised this until joey pointed it out. almost all the dishes were not the WOW THIS IS GREAT STUFF on first bite kind of food. But almost instantaneously on 2nd bite, the taste just kinda makes u wana lift up your thumb to say.. THIS IS GOOD STUFF. haha.. the taste lingers on and makes you want more!
desserts wise, we had a molten chocolate cake....
gotta admit initially when we saw it arriving like dat looking a bit wobbly, we were kinda skeptical. But when we dug in and saw that warm oozing chocolate fudge...
MMmmmm mmmmmm!! YUMMY!! its so good! the pastry is warm and slightly crispy on the outside. the oozing chocolate fudge remains in the container and you can just scoop it up. darn good!
den it was the panna cotta...
great stuff! i was just missing valentino's panna cotta. Shan said she feels dat this is better den valentino's. I feel this panna cotta reminds me of the white rabbit milk candy kinda milky. i think i prefer valentino's one. its more solid in texture. But generally, i like both!
Joey treated, thank cute!
the lady was quite nice, also gave us 1 for 1 lunch vouchers. Apparently this place has yet to be officially launched. I so want to come back again.
