Li Bai

after work today, i went over to sheraton to meet up with dad, mum and chandra. i made reservations for the renowned Li Bai. For years, i've heard raves and raves of this chinese restaurant and the hefty price tag. And i haf this perception, chinese restaurant should always typically be visited with the parents. and finally, here goes!

Li Bai...

the restaurant was pretty quiet for the night.

the first dish was the scallop and prawns salad...

i found the prawns salad a bit ordinary. the scallop salad was nice but both pretty pricey.

the crispy roast chicken...

this was really good. the skin was extremely crispy and thin. so good.

foie gras wif roast duck...

the foie gras was good. dad, mum and chandra all liked it.

cod fish....

not too bad.. a little sweet for my liking but i think most people would generally like it.

my favourite for the day....

spinach tofu. this was probably the only dish that wowed us today. the beancurd was really really good.. the spinach on the top enhanced the taste totally.

fish noodle with chicken cubes....

supposed to be some speciality item but didnt find it all that good. while it was ok.. wasnt exceptional.

also had lamb chops which i didnt try...

for desserts, we ordered the fried ice cream for chandra coz she has a really sweet tooth and really likes ice cream....

mum had a ice cream with glutinous rice...

i tried a bit of it. its pretty nice!

dad had a mango pudding...

the damage, was $300 odd. and with such, dad decided that since he will be attending a wedding dinner this saturday (which also is his birthday), this treat should be the bday treat for both of them. oh n yes, my parents actually share the same lunar birthday.

happy birthday mummy!
