bumped into a primary school mate Alison there while waiting for Joseph!

the interior of the place.....

i really liked the door at the entrance actually and the name of the place. The place is actually really small, sits probably around 10 tables? The decoration was rather nicely done up as well, gives a cozy cafe feel.

menus are not printed yet so gotta rely on the blackboards on the wall....

some of the interesting pictures printed on papers for customers to read about their place...

the drinks we ordered....

i had a lychee sage freeze which was really good. it was not too sweet and i could taste the lychees blended inside.

Joseph had the iced latte which was too bitter and he refused to ask for sugar syrup. haha

we ordered a combo to share. It comes with 2 soups, 1 salad and 3 sandwiches... going for around $24.90... Joseph treated.. thank cute!

for soup, we had the shitake mushroom and the potato sausage bacon.

this is the shitake mushroom soup....

its without cream. i found the taste alright considering its without cream and reminds me vaguely of Chef Clement's mushroom soup as well. I know Alison and Adrian had commented to me earlier that they didn't like it as much. Joseph seemed to really like it though.. he said its good. So you see, taste is really subjective! haha

the potato, sausage and bacon soup.....

i'd say they are really generous with the potato which is a good thing. Overall, the soup tasted alright.. it was mediocre.

next up was the chinese caesar salad....

a closer up view....

i was wondering how a chinese caesar salad would be like. I was still half expecting the typical creamy caesar sauce. This dish truly took me away. haha.. it was really a very innovative try.. the sauce was actually like soya sauce. So overall the taste was like .. hmm.. chicken rice, without the rice, add in the vege and slightly chilled. It was yummilious! There was also ikan bilis and fried garlic slices. The chicken, though breast meat was not too tough as well. The egg was also nicely done as u can probably see in the pics.

and den our sandwiches arrived...

love the way its served in such wooden planks. reminds me of this beef thingy i saw at Valentino and the beef i had at Les Bouchons!

we had the slow roasted pulled pork....

the crispy bits were nice. The pork was ok... would be better if it was slightly more tender though. It felt a lil dry... if its juicier it'd probably taste better.

the garlic thyme and chorizo sausage with the basil pesto chicken....

Joseph really liked the sausage. I think it was not bad as well. He didnt quite like the basil pesto but i on the other hand loved it. haha.. it was slightly sourish and went well with the chicken.

and the bread....

i ended up not finishing my portion of the bread coz i really think bread is a waste of my stomach storage space. haha! and i'm glad i found Adrian who agrees with me. lol

so i ended up only picking on the fillings and letting joseph have the honour of finishing the bread for me.

i even made the sandwich for him....

haha
