Brauhaus Restaurant & Pub

This place was recommended by a friend. It's a pub with the very old school kind of pub interior and with relatively good food!

It serves a variety of food from German sausages to local pork trotters bee Hoon!

Their bee Hoon is really good! Like what u get at home.

German pork knuckle....

Also really good, particularly love the sour cabbage they have at the side!

Baked potato...

This was really good, chunks of potato with cheese baked and with ham below.

And the sausage platter...

Decent but not what I will be ordering again.

Fukusen

Kerry dated me out for lunch at Fukusen! It was unusually packed for lunch.

As we sat, she told me she wants the chawanmushi I posted on instagram and she wants both the flavours that I couldn't decide on. lol!

The foie gras and the truffle. We casually mentioned why the foie gras looks particularly small this time round and he actually offered to charge us as the normal chawanmushi instead of foie gras one this time. Kudos for the good service when we didn't even complain.

We also ordered a tuna cube and cheese cube thingy...

It was ok, did not make much of an impression.

Also had a chicken karage...

Their chicken karage is very good! It's crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Also it's tasty!

Sashimi platter where the chef was very nice, allowing us to change the variety to fish we like...

The scallop, uni and foie gras don...

Super good and damn wu hua!

Fukusen

Meixin is a jap food lover so I recommended Fukusen at Hotel Clover.

I love Fukusen for their don, relatively reasonable prices for their quality!

To start off, a truffle and a foie gras chawanmushi...

Yummy! Especially the foie gras one.

Sashimi....

Aburi scallop don with foie gras and uni!

Uni don....

A good portion of uni and there this this egg yolk like thingy.

And I love their chicken karage, crispy skin with tender chicken...

Burger & Lobster (Genting)

After the casino session, we headed for our long awaited dinner at Burgers and Lobsters! Ken made the reservations about a month ago and from what we understand, we were the last they accept reservations for!

The menu was simple....

3 options of burgers, 3 options of lobsters, 3 options of lobster roll.

A round of watermelon juice to kick start the lobster session!

Something about this red juice just makes it look appealing!

We ordered one lobster and one lobster roll each! Each item came with fries and salad.. knowing we won't be able to finish the fries, we opted to change four of it to salad resulting in us receiving a forest of salads!

And check out our spread !

The lobsters were around 500 g each...

Going at about $138 ringgit.

They had big ones at about 2.5kg, going at about $600 ringgit but we didn't go for that option.

Lobster roll...

The lobster roll was good with chucks of lobster.

I haven't been to the London one which everyone raved about. This one was ok to me. Good enuff thou not wow-ing.

Service was not bad thou!

Street Churros (Genting)

As we shopped around, we saw this Churros place!

The 3 of them are churros lover! So it was like an auto pit stop that somehow replaced our initial idea of going for Baskin Robbins.

We ordered the plain one, the one with custard and the one with cheese...

Probably because it was served hot, it was really good.

The texture was just right as well!

Forgot to take picture of the drinks but the Seattle latte was really good. The coffee was slightly bitter (or I should say fragrant) yet not overly bitter. Missing it even now!

The matcha latte was also not overly sweet. The drinks were all really good!

Bubbles & Bites (Genting)

First thing to do was to address our empty tummies! Ken recommended this cafe called Bubbles and Bites!

I recognize this place! This used to be a cyber/Lan cafe!

Genting has changed quite a bit though the location of a lot of places are still the same. Food wise, there's much more selection and of better quality!

Right when we entered Bubbles, on the left is a fridge of cold salads which I couldn't help but order!

The top salad is a seafood salad. Chilled squid, prawns, mussels, yummy!

The bottom one is tomato, basil and cheese, always really awesome! Especially with the onion! It was good!

One thing I can't really resist is drumstick!

Also from the fridge, didn't expect it to be a main. The chicken was so so.

Caesar salad....

The salad is really good too! Nice Caesar sauce with beef bacon, smoked salmon and cheese.

We ordered a pizza to share coz the birthday girl wants something cheesy...

And she chose a uncommon one with capers! Salty! But the pizza was quite nice, thin crusted!

And of coz, the T-bone steak that ken recommended...

A rather huge portion. Relatively tender, good for its price.

And mac and cheese....

The mac n cheese was good! Creamy n cheesy!

Quivo (Kuala Lumpur)

We headed straight for our late dinner at Quivo. Read about it on Trip Advisor...

Pleasantly surprised they are open till 2am! So even though we were late for our 9.30pm reservations, they still kept our table.

Service was impeccable! The servers were friendly and polite. Overall a very good experience. Food was also great! Very much deserved it's ranking on Trip Advisor. Food was also good overall.

I didn't expect it to be alfresco dining. I cannot stand al fresco typically coz I hate the heat. But it was pretty ok. It turned out to be a bar restaurant...

We had a few starters to share...

Mushroom soup...

Thick mushroom cream soup served on a bread bowl. Instagram worthy! The top part of the bread was with some basil sauce. The sauce was good but the bread was a little dry. The soup was awesome! Flavourful and good!

Popcorn shrimp with curry aioli....

The popcorn shrimp is decent!

Spinach dip!

This was pretty good! Cheesy spinach dip with crunchies to dip into.

Chicken Caesar salad....

Which was pretty good! The sauce was just right, the chicken was some Mediterranean BBQ chicken and the egg was fried with a molten center. Good!

Crab cake sliders...

I thought the crab cake was so so, probably coz I like food in big chunks. Bunny and Candice thought the crab cake was very good because they liked the seasoning.

And for mains, ken had fish and chips while the rest of us had risotto.

I didn't very much like the fish and chips coz of the choice of fish. It was like a sword fish or something kind of texture. Ken liked it though, she felt it was something different.

The risottos were AMAZING!!! Seriously!!

Beef brisket rissoto....

The beef brisket was tender, soft and flavourful. The risotto was creamy and flavourful. It was like heaven!  We all gave our thumbs up!

Saffron seafood risotto was quite tomato-ish in taste. Really good as well. Seafood was charred and really nice!

Roast chicken and wild mushroom risotto, also a delightful dish served on a hot plate. Very yummy!

We had a good delightful meal! Importantly, it was very wallet friendly. Our whole meal came up to abt $460 ringgit inclusive of drinks which also included 2 pints of beer. Works out to about $160 for 4 pax.
