Ichiran (Hong Kong)

Heard some raves of the Ichiran ramen and was pleasantly surprised they have a 24 hours outlet near Causeway Bay! Gosh, how I love Hong Kong!

We were there near midnight so there wasn't much of a crowd...

The ichiran concept is as such, everyone is given a small cubicle, said to be for the patrons to fully enjoy their bowl of ramen...

Everyone is given a chit to place their order with choice of noodle texture, flavour richness etc.,

Here comes mine....

Sorry to say, I wasn't too impressed. The noodle was ok and not as firm as I wanted it to.

But maybe it's famous more for their spicy noodles while I had the non spicy one.

The char Siew was also not impressionable.

Pantler

I read an article awhile back about dining places along telok Ayer road and Pantler was one of the highly recommended place for its pastry and particularly cream puff...

The Swiss roll was good but could be a bit more moist...

The cream puff...

The cream puff was pretty good with the vanilla cream oozing out!

Meat Smith

An impromptu lunch arranged with bunny over at Meat Smith! Another round of glorious meat affair!

Crackling pork skin...

Beef rib, the mere sight of the rib itself will make any meat lover go crazy!

The meat is so tender and juicy! It easily peels off from the bone and is nicely smoked!

Didn't realize the beef brisket was very similar to the beef rib so we also ordered it...

Again, very tender, juicy and flavourful!

Pork collar....

Cheese bread

That's crazy amazing!

A hearty meaty meal!

The Pelician

During my last visit, I was very upset to hear that Pelician is going to remove the scampi from their menu. I can't understand why coz it's so damn good!

I was lucky one of the server - Jebb, offered to help preorder it for me so here i am today!

Their scampi comes in torched or raw version, both incredibly gooooooood!

And we ordered around 6 of each!

It was scampi glorious scampi! Tooooo good! It was fresh n served with prawn bisque. The texture is succulent - love it!

Really hope they keep this in their menu!

Another super incredible item is their oyster!

Apparently tues and thurs are their oysters night where it's $2 per piece. We are coming back then! Their oysters are amazing!

Poached lobster...

Also another succulent find!

And the following are the mains....

But really, the star was the scampi!

Thank you Jebb for the fabulous service!

Mon Bijou

And because the food at mon bijou is so good, I brought Detchie there!

the place was surprisingly much more packed than friday night.

cold crab truffle ramen...

the dish is chilled. The ramen is tossed in truffle oil, it tastes really really good! it wasn't overly oily and the texture was springy. Very awesome dish!

garden pasta which was a cream based mushroom pasta....

simple but very comfort kinda food. Simple yet done very right!

and finally got to try the crab cakes egg ben! apparently their speciality here....

which i can see why! the crab cakes were great, the poached egg was just right and the hollandaise sauce was amazing...

i super loved the hash browns too! nicely fried with nice potato bits inside, very good!

their french toast is damn amazing! It is damn soft and has sugar crystals in some bites. We loved it!!

for me to revisit a place that quickly, the food must be good. and i must say everything i've tried here is just amazing and excellent! Price wise its damn reasonable as well. I think i will be back soon again!

Mon Bijou

really ought to thank my friend who brought me here last week for lunch. the french toast was AMMMMMAZZZZING! it was constantly on my mind so when we decided to head some place for a good dinner to end the work work, i suggested this place!

Mon Bijou is located at level 2 of Claymore Connect, operated by Orchard Hotel....

honestly, if not because my friend brought me here, i don't think i will patronise this place coz of the location. But after that day, the french toast won me over.

And after today, the food in general will keep me coming back!! Everything is good!

Like for a start, we had their cold crab ramen in truffle sauce....

portion was great! and every mouthful a delight! drizzled in truffle oil, the ramen was springy and texture was just right! We loved it!

we had wanted to try their signature crab cake eggs ben but it was out so we had the truffle scrambled eggs...

tell me the yellow joyful scrambled eggs did not make your heart skip a beat! ahaha.. that colour and texture, MMMmmm! the hash brown that came with it was super good too!

the black parts were toast, i think some charcoal bread or something. Very yummy all day breakfast! If this was so good, i can't imagine how good the signature crab cake eggs ben must be!

Carbonara!

the carbonara was so good! Simple comfort food thats so so good!

Duck confit!

Been awhile since i had duck confit and their duck confit is ON POINT! the duck is juicy and the skin is crispy! Very good! the mash was decent and overall very reasonable pricing!

Because crab cake benedict was not available, we ordered a crab patty burger instead...

which proved to be fabulous! The crab patty had that strong crab taste, very very good. the truffle fries was also good!

and of course, we HAD TO HAVE THE TOAST!!!

they agreed with me that the toast was amazing! the brioche was soft and warm, drizzled with maple syrup and it was just sooooo good! a must try!

a great meal to end the busy work week! so fulfilling!

Park Bench Deli

I heard loads of good reviews of this place such that I just had to come by. I was lucky to be early so I beat the CBD lunch crowd!

The server was super friendly and gave out this really positive energy, I love the place already!

One top recommendation I got for this place was the cheese steak!

And it was as good as it was raved about. There was a generous amount of the cheese steak and they were a mouthful. The beef was cheesy and the texture was just amazing! A must try!

We also tried the cubano...

Great great sandwiches! U lucky CBD folks!

House of Seafood

After days of Taiwan food, we were craving for something more local and light. My friend suggested the 白米粉 from House Of Seafood at Punggol Waterway...

Dishes here were overall decent. The white bee Hoon was pretty ok as well. A place I will consider coming back.
