Rice & Fries

Headed to Rice & Fries. It is still very raw, havent exactly officially open yet but they are already in business to get reviews from relatives and friends...            


Rice & Fries is operated by Chef Ken. He used to be a sous chef at a couple of 5 - 6 star hotels like Ritz Carlton and Fullerton!

i had a soft shell crab salad as starter...



the soft shell crab was good! especially like their curry mustard! yummy!

nicely done with the right amount of garlic and chilli. generous amount of prawns...

fabulous sauce with awesome side of potato gratin. super love it!











and after mains, there's New Zealand Natural ice cream for dessert!

Imperial Treasure Steamboat

I met up with shan and joey for our little 'reunion dinner' over at Imperial Treasure Steamboat....




Shan and Joey has raved about this place to me for awhile. They call this the best steamboat place in Singapore. Joanne has also introduced this place and commented that its good but pretty pricey.

overall the steamboat was really good in view of the fine ingredients they use. Yes, its pretty pricey but its nice to enjoy it with my favourite couple...

Symmetry

Tricia planned a surprise thirty birthday for crabby today. Venue was to be at Jalan Kubor's Symmetry.

             



i was the first to arrive! The table was already nicely set up for us with balloons and some chocolates!














was served their complimentary grapes appetisers....



the whole grapes on ice bit just makes it look so interesting even though its just grapes.

i had a hot chocolate simply because i saw they had marshmallows in it...




it was pretty yummy!


we ordered a truffle fries to share...



oooohhh.. their truffle fries are yummy!

calamari was pretty good.

i quite liked the prawn balls....




their cheese and tomato ...




tricia loved the cheese dish. i think its nice as well.

the tuna cubes...




tricia found it really good. the tuna cubes looked like watermelon cubes. to me, for some weird reason, i felt it tasted of mutton so i didnt like it.

scallops! the scallops were yummy! i so have to bring cynthia here!




i like the sauce they got drizzled on the scallops. yummy!

and their beef steak....





its so tender, so yummy, so fabulous!!

i think its not too bad except i don't like that they used breast meat.

The Marmalade Pantry

Ali came by to pick me up after work and we headed over to Marmalade Pantry....



i've been missing their chicken caesar salad!



this is one of the few places where i actually enjoy the chicken breast!

we both ordered a prawn bisque linguine...



turned out to be quite different from what i expected. i think it would be cream kind of prawn bisque, turned out it was like the hay mee kind of prawn soup. hahahhaa

Fat Boys

lunch was at Fat Boys...

zhi wei had a whimpy burger which proved to be pretty good...




weixian had a mushroom burger...



it was not bad except wei xian said he had it before at the katong branch and they had much more mushrooms which he likes.

i tried their mac and cheese....



i quite like it! i think its one of the nicer mac and cheese following kenny rogers. and i love their chicken. soooo tender!

and i also love their chicken caesar salad!




their caesar salad sauce is just nice. enough to make me crave for more. and its addictive!

their chocolate milkshake with nutella is also yummy as well!




crystal had the bangers and mashed...




which was decent but nothing to shout about.

we also shared a calamari which i felt the texture was quite flat...





we also had a waffle and it had the weirdest vanilla ice cream ever...



it tasted funny but the waffle was nicely done!
