Sheng Ji

Cynthia and i did dinner at Sheng Ji (Tampines 1)...


shared a carrot cake...



it was ok.

a custard spring roll...



i think i prefer it in buns.

wanted something light so i had wanton soup...



the wanton soup had a weird taste that didnt go well with me.

cynthia ordered a prawn roll...



which was ok.

and a liu sha bao...





which was pretty not bad.

because the wanton soup wasnt good, i ordered a steamed chicken and mushroom rice...




overall decent with good portion of chicken cubes.

Hong Kong Street Zhen Ji

ray and roy have been talking about bringing me for the xo fish soup lunch since our last lunch. Mel mel happened to jio for lunch so i tied everyone together!




ray n roy both had the curry beef rice which they really liked...



i tried a piece, it was not bad.

the soup was yummy! i like the thick pieces of fish although i do agree with lea, the fish itself didnt really have much taste but im fine. overall the soup was good.

apparently there is another fish soup place nearby which is the original one. called bao gong or something.. we'll be back for bao gong!

we also shared a prawn paste chicken....



the prawn paste chicken is yummy too!!

HK Teochew Porridge

after the movie, i brought them over to my current favourite porridge place (hehe.. actually i was just here last night!).... i love their pig liver! located along upper serangoon road...



their pig liver is done just right! the slices are also in a good size!



damn yummy!








their other dishes are generally not bad too!

The Salad Shop

happened to have meetings in town so arranged for lunch with my favourite boy! .. how i miss raffles place!

the two food places i really miss around raffles place for today is the philip street roast pork and the salad shop! and since im tryingggg to be more healthy, it was the salad shop!



how i miss this place! i hope they open up more outlets! i love the variety they have. although i've not visited the other popping up salad places, they dont give me the feeling that they have as much variety!




ok, maybe bleu cheese dressing isnt that healthy (haha) but i love my salad! i love the thick pieces of beetroot... the avocada, the almond flakes and their mushroom! omg, so miss it as im typing here! the mushroom is the white kind.. it just feels SO FRESH!

Xin Wang

after the movie, we headed for a really late dinner at Xin Wang.

most times i would straight away order my pork rib bee hoon. But i was in a soupy mood today so i ordered the eel porridge that i've always been eyeing on their menu for years but never got round to actually ordering it...



overall it was ok. satisfied my soupy craving. eel portion was not very generous but ok.

Antoinette

after meetings, i met up with meina and we decided to head over to Arteastiq. Meina suggested the place but before we were there, she warned me that everything about this place is good except for the service. true enough, while waiting for aloy at the door (he went to the loo), for a good five minutes, no one bothered to come to us to show us to our seats. When we went in, they walked over only to tell us they have been fully booked for an event....



and im not sure if its a mandarin gallery thingy. that service for the food places here are generally not good coz we decided to adjourn to Antoinette...



we again received very bad service. the person at the counter again couldnt really be bothered with us when we were at the door. And when he went in to check if there were seats, when he came out, he said .. " COME "... in a semi rude tone.

pretty place, lousy service. i was not in an argumentative mood and i was busy with smses coming in so i did not to pursue his bad service.


aloy and meina had the food, i had a chocolate drink.








when we needed attention from the server (for the bill etc), we had a hard time getting it. Meina was totally sacarstic when she told the server :" i think i just sprained my neck trying to get your attention" ahahaha.. n the server couldnt even be bothered. HAHAHAA

owing to the bad service, i don't think i plan to be back any time soon.

Prata Prata

lunch with Joelle. everywhere was crowded so we landed at Prata Prata of Mapletree Business City. i have actually been having craving for egg prata.

their prata comes in sets.. about $6. Not cheap!



the prata is overall ok but the chicken in the curry is really hard.

Shin Kushiya

after work, arranged to meet up with eu jin for dinner. i want shin kushiya today! i want the truffle pasta that meina had the other day!


we shared a sashimi....



eu jin's beef noodles...



he said the texture of the noodles were pretty good. which i remember dear dear likes their noodles as well. she used to like their duck sauce flavoured noodles (i think).

why so different one? this is totally chilled. i kind of remember meina's one was warm... but it was still not bad in taste.. just would prefer if its warm pasta.

the roll was quite good actually.

Paradise Dynasty

joelle was craving for paradise dynasty so we fixed a date to go there for lunch!

today's one is not as nice. its slightly harder. the other day's one much softer and literally melts in the mouth! haha

Vineyard

little bee brought us to Hort Park which is near our office and he said he made reservations.

My first visit to hort park!

the restaurant's decor is beautiful..



very cozy chill out area.

the decor itself has already won us over pretty much.

lea and i shared a set lunch and added a pasta. lil bee had a set lunch as well but actually we kind of end up sharing everything else.

their scrimps are bouncy, the kind that i like!

and this! this is a liver pate...



i think its some red wine jelly on top or something...



sadly, the herbs they used didnt quite go with me. i could have and would have polished it all off if not for the herbs. haha

lil bee found it ok though.

we also had escargots and seafood soup..



THESE... THESE WERE HEAVENLY!!



the escargots were tasty!

the seafood soup was damn yummy i polished it all off! its got that thick seafood flavour with a generous amount of seafood...





totally delectable. I want more!

lil bee's mains was some braised lamb with mashed potato..



i dont take lamb but both lil bee and lea were going on about how good this is. i did try the mashed potato, also really good!

our mains was the steak...



the steak was decent.

our squid ink marinara..



im not much of a marinara person. i read wrongly and i thot it would be those black staining squid ink pasta. the pasta was decent.

our dessert was a cupcake with chocolate sauce and ice cream...



LOOKS SUPERB! as we digged in, it was so hard! haha. but it actually tasted really good! it was hard as in crispy and with the ice cream, the texture was great.

lil bee went for the other dessert which is the vanilla yoghurt...



which was not bad too.
