Egg3 Cafe

today we celebrate camilia's birthday. sq found this place called the egg3 cafe. despite all the address and 'landmarks' (haig boys school, judo federation, mountbatten square) and it being so near some of our places, we werent sure of the exact location. turns out the best landmark is actually fatty weng restaurant! its right at the back, enter via guillemard crescent!








its one of those small boutique cafe sprouting up.. they also sell miscellaneous fixtures and furnishings...






















food! based on the name, camilia and i came along thinking this place probably has lots of egg based items but it isnt exactly the case and because we were all late, we missed the breakfast so there wasnt exactly much variety left. but on the whole, it was fine.

lemongrass drink...



available in hot or cold. btw, told you lemongrass and yuzu drinks are like the new IN drink now. haha.. their lemongrass drink is.. hmm.. ok.. not very strong in taste actually. i kinda prefer the one from coffee by dao.

kaizhi had the fish and chips...



decent. kaizhi found it a little too oily after a while.

sq's pork sausage burger was the most appetising to look at!



the sausages actually reminds me of chippy's sausage in terms of appearance and taste.

for myself, i had a vongole done in aglio olio and white wine sauce...



overall it was decent.

camilia had the vongole as well in tomato sauce...



derrick's ham and mushroom baked rice...



smells really good and taste not bad too. one of the items i preferred.

we also ordered chicken wings to share...



the chicken wings were so so.















desserts! sq wanted the hot lava cake...



it was ok. decent.

carrot cake...



decent as well but i've had nicer.

overall egg3 is a nice place to come by to sit and chill especially its so near my place. pricing is relatively reasonable.

Itacho

after a whole day of meetings and all, the craving for itacho sushi couldnt be put off anymore! i headed down with joelle!

seafood inari...



taste a lil like delifrance's seafood croissant with a bit more better but on an inari. haha

their sushi are just god damn good! and coz joelle is expecting, she cant have most of the sushi which are raw fish and she said im torturing her! haha

i want to marry a itacho sushi chef!!

Itacho

met up with Joe and statue for dinner at itacho!!



i have been in this sushi eating craze because of that hk drama serial on scv. that sushi one which happens to also be sponsored by itacho. and truly, after getting my fix at other japanese restaurants over the past few days, only today has been truly truly satisfying!

first is the roast dorsal....



this is SOOOO GOOD! it literally melts in your mouth! that slight roasted searing brings out the taste of the fish. just so good. camilia introduced this to me the last time we came here together.

joe ordered the curry omelette...



this further adds on to my observation that men in general like japanese curry. haha.. anyway, the omelette was not bad.

other roasted sushi..




there was scallop, tuna, salmon, mackerel. all sooo good.

some roe and  cheese thingy..



didnt make much of an impression in me.

and the many other fish..



basically that scv show just makes u want to eat more than just the usual salmon, tuna or swordfish sushi.

also introduced the bake crab to the guys and they really liked it...



oh! and my crab and crab miso sushi..



its like crab roe paste. also damn yums!

Shin Kushiya

lunch with belinda and lea. told them i am having cravings for sushi so we headed to shin kushiya.

we shared the angel fish pasta. and i realise i have wronged them the last time. apparently they did indicate on their menu this is a chilled pasta. so i guess the first time i tried it with meina, that was the time they was not so right? i duno but still this is a nice pasta. belinda and lea liked it too...

shin kushiya has one of my favourite japanese bbq skewers. its just sooo yummeh! really like their beef and pork skewers.

Sakuraya Fish Mart

that sushi drama serial on scv is driving me crazy with all the sushi and sashimi so i got my craving fixed at sakuraya fish mart (parkway parade)...



they really have pretty fresh fish. do not expect good service. its one of those places where they think they are damn good with a niche and cannot be bothered with service.

Mezza Nine

Dinner to make up for that first yoga session..... we did dinner at mezza nine because Sharon's friend, Michelle, has the hyatt dining card which entitles us to a 25% discount...



service here was not exceptional as expected. it was hard to get attention of the servers - probably they were short handed.

complimentary bread with their tomato based sauce...



food was generally pretty good though they were also pretty steep.

crab cakes...



their crab cakes were pretty good...



jean's tuna salad which was part of her set dinner...



the rest of us didnt order the set dinner. We ordered two meat platter to share and we added side orders of gnocchi ...



i found it alright, saphy and sharon found it really good.

cream spinach...



most of us really liked the cream spinach. i like it but i think it will prefer if its those really mashed up kind.

mashed potato...



not bad but crazy over priced. cost $9!

their meat platter is also crazy priced. $92...



its really yummy! but i do still think $92 is mad crazy steep. i do agree its quality food but still thats damn expensive!





for dessert, jean's set dinner came with a yuzu cream brulee...



its pretty awesome!
