Oosters

I met Joey and I-Shan for dinner @ Oosters.

25 Church Street,
#01-04 Capital Square Three,

Singapore 049482
Tel: 6438 3210
Fax: 6438 5892

Onion soup ($8)...

was told that Joey really digs onion soup. He didnt think much of their onion soup though. I felt that their onion soup has quite strong liquor taste. Its not too bad in my view just not very onion-soupish. haha..

fries that came with one of the mains...

their fries are not bad.

their white wine mussels ($23)...

the mussels are good. especially the white wine sauce which tastes like soup. i like! Lionel, i think u'll like this!

and Joey was telling us there is a way to eat the mussels....

thats to use the shell of the first one to pick up the next one den use it to pick the meat out!

for mains we also shared a hoegaarden cod ($26)....

the name itself interested I-shan and myself! The cod turns out to be really good. The cream sauce was not really gerlard and the cod was not gerlard! The three of us really liked it.. i especially liked their vegetables as well.. really soft and good.

the boeuf brabancon ($21)...

which effectively is beef stew....

Taste wise its quite alright but the meat has quite a bit of tendon making it not as easy to eat.

Sausage and Stoemp ($19)...

also pretty good sausages with a nice mashed potato.

CP roasted chicken

and my only meal for today... instantly microwaved...

the honey chicken...

the garlic and black pepper chicken....

i think its not too bad. i typically prefer honey chicken but their honey chicken has this strong meat taste. i guess the black pepper kinda covered it up. Overall i'd say its pretty good... CP's shrimp dumplings are pretty good as well. Lil bee and sunantha cooked it for us when we were at Charles place the other time. Great convenient supper!

Mc Cafe

my craving for today...

hot chocolate! and topped wif 2 marshmallows.. sheer heaven!

Eden Cafe

Dinner with Jeffrey and Orella at Eden Cafe.

54 Club Street
Singapore 069431

promo.tooti@gmail.com

http://www.edencafe.sg
Monday - Thursday: 1130am - 10pm, Break 3pm - 430pm
Friday: 1130am - 1130pm, Break 3pm - 430pm

Saturday: 1130am - 1130pm

Sunday/Public Holiday: 1130am - 10pm

Eden Cafe is actually operated by Clement, owner of the former Helio Cafe. I've not visited since their shift and have honestly kinda forgot about the place until Clement asked Lea about me. hehe.... but i'm back!

the interior of Eden...

While waiting for Jeffrey and Orella to arrive, Clement let me sample one of their tea... called the Relax tea which is supposed to relax our mind....

food wise, we ordered a chilli crab pasta ($15.90)...

it was pretty alright. the crab taste was not very strong, its a little sweet.. jeffrey said it reminded him of mee rebus.

Honey Mustard Chicken ($14.90)...

firstly, i liked the fact that they used red wine sauce on the side salad. jeffrey didnt like it though coz he doesnt like the wine taste. The honey mustard chicken was alright.

Saffron Cream Sauce Salmon ($16.90)...

this dish is impressive! its simply great!!! firstly the saffron sauce is good! the salmon's doneness is just right! check out the colour...

Clement was telling us its Tasmania salmon. The portobello mushroom was huge and juicy! so scrumptious!

for desserts, i've always known dat Clement is very good with desserts and Jeffrey and Orella love desserts! but i didnt expect them to end up ordering so many! haha

first up was the chocolate ganache ($10.90)....

its really good! its served chilled... very chocolatey... i likey~

next was the ginger creme brulee....

very good as well! Jeffrey loves creme brulee and he thinks this is really good.

Molten Chocolate Cake ($12)...

with the chocolate oozing out and the apricot on top...

the apricot is soaked in rum. this molten chocolate cake is really good! its sweet by itself and i cant really believe Clement said he doesnt add sugar to his chocolate cakes!

Hibiscus Cheese Filo ($9.90)....

i remember having Clement's Filo below and i love the filo! i didnt like today's filo pastry as much as the previous time i had it but it was still good.

and if u think we had alot, we had more! Jeffrey and Orella liked the molten chocolate cake so much dat they ordered another one and requested to have it topped up with ice cream!

this one wasnt as hot as the previous one actually. The previous one was better.

but overall i'd think Clement's efforts at making desserts are really admirable. He really makes very good desserts. Through conversations you can also tell that he puts in alot to read up and look for fine ingredients in his dishes and desserts.

and it was so cool when he brought this to show me....

ostrict egg! he said he's planning to use this to develop another new dessert. I'm definitely bringing my friends back for the salmon and desserts!

Ritz Custard Sandwich

Yesterday at The Central's Japanese minimart, i got this..

its pretty good.. the crackers are a little saltish while the custard is sweet.

Ice Cream Chef

after dinner, the bees were keen on dessert so we were toying along the idea of siglap... most probably cheesecake cafe. but along the way, saw Ice Cream Chef.

they haf a new flavour Red Ruby...

nice! the person let me try.. its really like red ruby! cruncy chestnuts in coconut ice cream... !

but i was quite full so i didnt order. mr and mrs bee ordered though.

the man mixing their ice cream...

sunantha's mrs smith (green apple ice cream) with apple jacks...

lil bee's strawberry ice cream wif chocolate sauce and some duno wat chocolate mix in...

they liked it!
