Kendi and i made a date with Dar Dar to celebrate her birthday today!
and because dar dar has mentioned before she misses Modesto's squid ink, we chose this place to celebrate her birthday!
complimentary bread...
warm toasted bread cubes with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. yums.
we ordered a parma ham with rockets pizza to share....
the pizza is good! thinly crusted and the parma ham goes well with the cheese and the crust. yummy.
for pasta, i am really upset their changed their menu and no longer have the big ass crab meat ravioli which i used to love *sad*
i end up choosing the smoked salmon in cream sauce pasta....
which is decent but i dont appreciate cooked smoked salmon.
dar's squid ink pasta....
smells superb like before but didnt taste as strong as it used to be. it used to have that kick ass strong squid ink taste but today's one wasnt that good.
kendi ordered some dumpling pasta with bacon etc...
came out to be pretty oily.
overall, i think the pizza was the best.
the manager upon knowing its a birthday celebration, offered a complimentary piece of tiramisu....
the tiramisu was decent.

Au Chocolat
i got a call from secret santa who offered to buy me lunch at au chocolat! and he said i can bring fishy along!
so we headed down for a quick lunch. he was already there!
ooo.. love their selection of cheese cake....
reminds me of cheesecake factory in usa! but we were too full and gave dessert a miss!
love their decor....
luckily the restaurant was not busy so we managed to finish lunch very quickly.
we had a frozen chocolate....
sonia agreed with me that its very good! its very yummy!
i had the beef bourguinon that i had during NYE....
because its just so good. tender braised beef cubes with mashed potato in thick yummy brown sauce.
and of coz, we ordered the onion soup that i strongly recommended!
its super good. the best onion soup i've ever had!
fishy had the vongole...
which was yummy as well.
my secret santa initially wanted duck confit but opted for pork belly instead....
the pork belly turned out to be a not so nice version of shio-ba... he probably should have chose the duck confit instead. hehe

Brussel Sprouts
xin and i arranged to meet up and she suggested brussel sprouts.
kids get to eat free! lil dylan had a fish and chips...
we ordered a small clam and small mussels.
cant remember the sauce we chose but the one one for the clams came with white wine and it was good! couldnt stop drinking it!
the mussels were good as usual too...
and of coz, their extremely yummy fries with mayo!
a seafood pasta for her domestic helper...
as i was still full from the heavy lunch, xin and i shared the pork belly...
the pork belly was nice but a little more rubbery than usual. haha
then came the unwrapping of my xmas presents to them. With the help of a very helpful server. he was really nice. he helped us unscrew the parts to open up any plastic wrapper, added batteries and even went the extra mile to add sweets into the box for us to 'catch'. VERY GOOD SERVICE!

Le Chocolat Cafe
We bought a rainbow cake back from Le Chocolate Cafe....
it was not bad. decent.

Club Street Social
We walked over to Social @ Club Street! i have been meaning to check out this place!
after the long walk, we were there!
unfortunately, it was packed. fortunately, they had bar seats.
first to be served is the lobster bisque soup....
it was pretty good! flavourful. the lobster meat could be more generous but overall its good.
the other item we ordered to share was the anchovy with ricotta...
i really liked this. i think maybe i like the sight of it, the idea of it and i like anchovy in general. its pretty fresh and the whole thing worked for me.
and because we weren't sure when we will be able to make time to come down, we went on to also order the raved about truffle toast which we found online on our way down...
it was really good. the bread was nicely toasted with truffle taste.
for our individual toast, shan had the duck confit...
it was pretty good. the flavours were also good.
joey and myself had the ribeye panini...
the steak was a nice portion...
overall, i loved it.
Joey and Shan found it good but they didnt like the service so they said they are not likely to be back. haha

Ramen Keisuke Tori King
dinner was at Tori King...
as shan introduced this place, she said theres an oven where they bake the chicken drumsticks...
a small little restaurant within the new Amara Mall. sister restaurant of that always long queue ramen place at Orchid Hotel.
sesame seeds for us to grind...
free flow eggs!
free flow beansprouts....
i emphasized on the free flow part because on the cab earlier, shan was introducing the different places to me and for one other japanese bento place, she said.. " free flow rice " and for this place, she said they had free flow eggs and bean sprouts to which i replied.. " wow, the restaurants in this mall, a lot of free flow stuffs thrown in huh? " and she said.. " ya, probably people in this estate are generally seen as very hungry people " HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
and our ramen arrives!
the eggs, runny yolk. the soup base was decent. i like that they let you have a choice of the doneness of the noodles as well. i like it harder than normal!
the chicken drumstick was nice. overall its decent ramen.
Marmalade Pantry
Joelle and myself has been missing that caesar salad since our last short catchup so we made a date to head back for lunch today!
this chicken caesar salad is AWESOME!!
it actually makes me crave for chicken breast. freaking good! looking at this picture just made me drool! haha
we also shared a crab meat linguini...
which was decent but not impressive.
shared a Elvis cupcake, love the peanut butter and the moist cupcake...
lemon meringue cake..
a little too sweet for my liking.
