joey and ishan excitedly told me that they want to bring me to this boutique restaurant at cluny court. they were raving to me about some blue cheese burger and ishan began telling more more about how good it was. seriously, she already had me at blue cheese. hahaha
joey called and made reservations. We got there around 9.30 pm.....
its by the same management as wild rocket.
we started wif their tuna starter...
seared tuna wif baby spinach. it was good. the tuna was really fresh... the sauce was a garlic-ky sauce. i like it.
for mains, we shared the hay bee and baby scallop pasta...
tasted a bit like those mini shrimp paste popiah rolls dat we haf as snacks. we agreed that it was a good try but we'd go for the aglio next time. haha
the pork burger....
joey changed the fries to onion rings. the onion rings were pretty good. it wasnt very strong in taste. it was dry and not very oily.
the pork...
the taste was very oriental and didnt really go very well wif me.
and of course, the blue cheese burger!!
a close up....
done medium rare and the blue cheese is actually right in the middle. it oozes out as you cut it... heavenly .. i love blue cheese!
we also shared their signature strawberry cheese cake...
not presented in traditional form. haha.. but it was yummy as well. was like ice cream and loved the strawberries.
Joey treated for dinner, thank cute!

we had a omelette and eel ....
eel with omelette hotplate...
was pretty ok...
wagyu beef ($16)
tender and pretty cheap considering its wagyu beef.
sumiyaki set..
found the soup a bit too sweet but there was a good portion of beef.
swordfish sashimi ($9.50).....
pretty fresh.
soft shell crab....
which i didnt feel like having.

Bistro Senso
last week i received an email from bistro senso saying they are having 50% off ala carte items... i told meixin and she was keen too!
when we got there, we realised that the promotion was over but the manager assured us that there has been a revision in the prices so actually we are still paying about 50% off what was previously stated on the old menu.
with that in mind, we felt prompted to order more heartily~
we shared a calamari....
i think it was really good! it was not oily.. the batter was slightly powdery and the taste was just right. the texture of the squid was also good. everyone liked this.
we also shared a pamma ham and rocket salad pizza....
wif loads of rockets...
despite a drop in pricing, i didnt sense any reduction in portion (not that i've been here before)... and the pizza is really really good. very thin and a good amount of my favourite pamma ham and rockets.. n cheese!
the very first item that caught yunping, meixin and my eyes when we browsed through the menu, was the lobster and crab meat ravioli....
there was probably around 6 pieces of ravioli in all. the fillings...
it tasted alright. i cant help but compare it to modesto's ravioli and i like modesto's much better because it is much much bigger and the fillings are tastier.
the aglio olio...
not too bad.. pretty spicy.. all 4 of us felt so. but overall was nice.
lastly was some veal dish...
the veal was deep fried which was not what i had expected. as a result, it was quite hard and the veal was very thinly sliced. we didnt like it at all.

we did dinner at Soup Restaurant.
the si ji dou...
its really good. be it texture or taste, its both good.
pork ribs rice...
the ribs rice is not bad.. quite cheap (considering its soup restaurant).
the very good samsui chicken....
the ginger sauce is so darn good. squiddy kept going.. " i normally dun eat ginger one.. but this one is sooo good.. soooo good "
and the soup of the day is carrot and pork ribs soup...
pretty good soup as well.
nice meal.. quite pricey but was a pretty good meal.

New York New York
after work, arranged to meet up with nerissa, crabby and geraldine for dinner and catching up. We did dinner at New York New York.
we shared a calamari....
its pretty good. in fact, my favourite dish for today.
den there was some fried mushroom thingy...
didnt quite like it. felt that it has a stale oil smell and it wasnt tasty.
we also shared a meat platter.. a big big plate of meat...
the spring chicken was ok. the ribs was dry and rather meatless. the fried chicken pieces were not very good in my view.

Oomphatico's
Seafoodies' February 2009 gathering at Oomphatico's.
we took seats outside...
the plates from oomphatico's has really cute cats on it.....
crabby loves cats and yes, she loved the plate. which kinda makes it a nice and appropriate place to do dinner for her birthday month!
we shared a mashed potato with feta...
we all quite liked the texture of the mashed potato. the girls didnt like the feta but i liked it. they preferred the potato to come with some kinda sauce but i like it without. i like that slightly butterish taste to it.
we shared a linguine with clams and mussels...
i think it was good. and yes, its quite apparent they are very generous with the clams and mussels. i like how the linguine wasnt too heavy in taste but was nice coated with a mild seafood taste. initially, some of them found it too bland but subsequently found that it tastes better after awhile.
we also shared a pepperoni pizza....
this is probably the best dish for tonight. everyone gave their thumbs up. its very thin and really good. very yummy.
caesar salad...
was ok... had better.
for meat, we went for the pork belly which i had the last time i was here with ishan and joey...
it came with a pretty thick layer of fats. pretty different from what i had the last time. there wasnt much meat left after the fats. the skin was still crispy but i think they generally preferred the philip street roast pork.
the sauted mushrooms...
were pretty good.
and for dessert, we shared a bread butter pudding...
and had a good discussion about whether we prefer this one or the one from miss clarity cafe. haha

Lerk Thai
Lyna bought me lunch at Lerk Thai.
they had a promotion whereby pineapple rice is only $3.90 if you order any ala carte dishes above $20....
we had a tom yam soup....
its pretty good with lotsa ingredients.
green curry chicken...
also not bad. pity we were too full to really enjoy it coz it came last.
we also had a phad thai because lyna said she tried it the last time and it was really good..
today's one is not bad but i think i've tasted nicer.
the pineapple rice...
looks so appetising! tastes pretty good too.. especially like the prawns for being so succulent.
and a platter....
also couldnt finish... and im increasingly not much of a fried food person. haha.. thank cute Lyna!
