Met up with Meixin, Jinghua and Yunping at City Hall for dinner. We went over to Ding Tai Feng.
aside from our main dishes, we ordered a no. of xiao cai...
some chilled beef slice thingy with a bit of jelly like thingy....
tastes pretty ok. the beef taste is pretty strong as well.
seaweed...
also slightly chilled. nice texture.
some mixed preserved vegetables....
not bad.
osmanthus lotus roots....
reminds me of the one i had from Yanqing Shanghai Kitchen. Comparatively, i can't quite decide which one i prefer. But i like this dish.
the pork chop....
which tastes ok to me. i dun particularly like thin pork chops.
the famous ding tai feng xiao long bao...
somehow it doesnt taste particularly good. the meat inside, in mypersonal humble opinon was too soft, too minced, doesnt feel texturised enough.
wanton soup...
which was ok. I would prefer the crystal jade kinda wanton which is filled wif prawns, prawns, prawns. heh
for mains, jinghua had some tang hoon soup thingy....
didnt really try except the soup which tastes pretty ok.
Ordered the beef noodle soup for Yunping....
tried a bit, tastes good! like the soup and the beef was pretty soft as well!
finally the big star for tonight. Meixin and i shared the prawns fried rice....
the picture doesnt do it credit at all. the rice arrived in a golden yellow colour, very appetising! Tastes fabulous!!
and because Meixin paid using her citibank credit card, we got a free dessert....
it was like some tang yuan thingy with peanut inside. the skin is really smooth. its nice! Cynthia, i think u may lke this!
