Le Bar

Clam brought me to Le bar, located along Tras Street... 45 Tras Street if i recall correctly.....

surprisingly, found the bar to be located right below my manicurist (Cyndi)'s place. So i called Cyndi asking if she's interested to come down to join us for awhile.

Le Bar surprised me to not be a sleezy pub.. well, not very. And apparently quite a no. of our friends patronise this place.. and in fact, coincidence works in wonder ways. Long story cut short, that night Cyndi came, Fishy came, Rachie came, Lil bee came, Francis came, Eugene came and eventually found out that many of our other friends hang out here.

i took pictures of their deco, particularly like this shot....

CHEERS!

and clammy treated for the beer again.. thank cute clammy dear.. my treat when i get my job, i promise!

Dennis

Clammy misses the food @ Checkers so it was Checkers we went. Goodness, after introducing Clammy to Checkers, she is now even more of a regular than i am and she's even got their VIP card! haha

and i know many people have been asking me where is this Checkers / Dennis. Its located at right where the Shenton way Partyworld KTV is....

its now called the Dennis Cafe but serving the same food.

they always have 2 varieties of soup. One's the chinese clear soup type, the other is the western cream based soup.

for today, cream of mushroom and potato and carrot soup....

their soup may not be fantastic but always decent.

Clammy and i shared a hammie munch....

picture tells it all....

and we also shared a garlic chicken spaghetti....

tender chicken and really tasty garlic sauce.....

(although andrew did comment that from the pics he feels tat the pasta's not good).. but i love the pasta.. like the sauce, the tender chicken.

Clammy treated for dinner. thank cute clam!

Seah Street Deli

Seafoodies Nov Gathering 2007 was held @ Seah Street Deli.

our salad.. the deli chef salad....

i liked how the meats came in strips but the girls didnt. haha.. they felt that it should come in cubes.

for sauce, we had blue cheese (or rather, i had blue cheese) while they had thousand island....

their vegetables are really fresh and the girls liked the ham.

we also ordered a calamari to share...

the girls all loved the calamari. they said its soft and doesnt taste very oily. I was the only one who didnt think much of it. I felt it was too soft and had not much taste. I think im the weird one. lol

we also shared the beef pot roast....

all the girls loved it. Crabby said its fabulous! the beef is thinly sliced and the mashed potato is buttery.. yum!

we also shared a chicken quesadillas...

It was pretty good. Served warm. Squiddy said she tried brewerk's one and she felt was really good thats why she ordered this. Squiddy commented that Seah Street Deli's is nicer.

Gloria Jeans

Squiddy and i also shared a spinach quiche from Gloria Jeans....

it was just ok. Delifrance's one is better in my view. I love Spinach! I should be Popeye! haha

MOS Burger

I saw that they had a new item on their menu.. they have souffle! I tried the vanilla souffle...

its served chilled and very different from the other souffle i've tried. So far the souffles i've had are all served warm. Of coz, i do realise its unfair to compare Mortons and Flutes by The Fort's souffle to a this. heh.. in general, i didnt like this souffle because i found the vanilla taste very artifical. Squiddy finished the other half for me and she found it pretty good though.

Gastronomia Da Paolo

We walked over to Gastronomia Da Paolo ....

Humbert commented that this place, " gui qi bi ren " hahaha.. meaning it feels very expensive.

they had many different cakes prepacked in plastic boxes. I chose a few and let Humbert decide which one to select. He chose some crunchy hazelnut cake....

the side view...

the cream on top was a little oily but overall, was not bad. the hazelnut taste was there.

den looking at the cupcakes, he said i can choose one so of coz i chose my favourite PINK!

its some lemon frosting. The frosting is TOOOOO sweet.. but the cake was pretty good!

thank cute for the desserts!

Fresco

After we bought our donuts, we were still early for our settlers reservations. Kendi had earlier wanted to have ice cream but we were all too full from dinner + donut. Andy, however, grinned from ear to ear at the thought of ice cream! haha

We recommended Fresco to Andy....

and the certain someone who was expecting a VERY BIG, VERY VERY FAT BONUS coming up ordered 2 ice cream! (btw, i want my LV bag and holiday trip!! i want i want!! and we are all waiting for our Lawry's treat!! LOL)

Cookies Crunch ($6.50)...

which is pretty good!

i recommended the dontorelle rock...

it tastes like ferrero rocher in ice cream form! Yummy!

loh gong zai and kendi ordered the Burst of Berries ($13.80)...

it was 2 scoops of forest berries and one scoop of strawberry. They did taste slightly similar though they are slightly different. Pretty good. Tastes a little like yoghurt.

Parklane Zha Yun Tun Mee House

For dinner, we chose somewhere cheap at my request (although everytime wif nuasters its usually restaurants.. haha).. we went to Parklane Zha Yun Tun Mee House located along Katong (East Coast Road).

Kendi and Loh gong zai had a plate of their wan ton mee each...

i remember having it once at their Bugis outlet, it was pretty good.

as for myself, i had a bowl of wanton soup....

the wanton this time, was lagi small.

we ordered a bowl of fried wanton to share....

again, fillings were so little that we could only taste the skin. But fried wanton skins are always nice. haaha..

when i 'complained' about the fillings being little (which honestly, it is way too little), loh gong zai replied.. " u think is the hongkong type ah "... *bleah*

they also ordered a fried you tiao....

which is quite lousy. not nice!

Jo-ann and yonghua had food from the zee char stall within the same kopitiam. it is noted that the zee char stall owner and parklane are pretty aggressive fighting for business. Both would just stand there with the menu, refusing to go away despite how we request to order later or even politely indicated that we do not want to order anything else. ha.

Happy Dough Factory

Since we were in the area, we drove over to Ray's donut shop. He was not around though. Tending the shop was a young boy who was rather polite and seemed to do a pretty good job.

Happy Dough Factory....

193 East Coast Road
Singapore 428899
Tel:
6346 4875
Email: yeochaisoon@yahoo.com.sg
www.happydoughfactory.com
(btw Ray, i think the website looks great!)

its actually located along the stretch of katong where the 5 star chicken rice is and right beside the katong sin hoi san zee char stall

their shop....

this shop is actually opened by my good friend Ray as a partnership with his brother and another friend. Stall is pretty new and when he told me about it, i can't wait to try (i promise i'm still honest in my review.. lol).

their menu....

their pricing....

some of the flavours they offer...

in all honesty, they do have quite a huge selection. The more exotic and not commonly found ones would probably be their mango tango, green tea, etc

I decided to buy a box to support my good friend (although he did promise me a free box but never had the time to deliver it) and also give a treat to the nuasters but Jo-ann beat me to the paying. She said she's been receiving treats from us but never had a chance to treat us back.. haha.. well, thank cute Jo-ann!

our box of donuts....

After dinner, we attacked the box of donuts, everyone can't wait.

Our first donut was chocolate estacy....

we were surprised to find fillings inside!!

the 5 of us shared the donut and i knew they were won over when Kendi, loh gong zai and Jo-ann all said they want to walk back to buy more boxes. They kept saying its really nice.

the next one we shared was the peanut butter one with the smiley face...

also has fillings inside. I personally found the peanut butter a little too thick. I guess true blue peanut butter fans will love it. In comparison, i prefer the one from Donut Factory. The dough is also softer for Donut Factory.

we also had jolly white which is white chocolate. loh gong zai didnt have this because he doesnt like white chocolate. I like. its a thick layer of white chocolate!

the merry berry was also pretty good. its blueberry!

and when Andy arrived, before he had dinner, we all walked back and bought another 3 boxes in total....

they were mainly filled with chocolate estacy!

and Ray, if u're reading this, do install a fan! the place is so hot and the poor boy was perspiring.

May ur business prosper!

Canele

Along with dar's surprise, she also bought cakes from Canele!

placed in their classy little black box....

well, that piece of pink cake was accidentally toppled over.

there was cheese cake...

the cheese cake was pretty good. dar dar asked if i prefer Canele or Bakerzinn. haha.. in terms of outlook (packaging), Canele definitely looks classier. But in terms of taste (not that Canele is not nice), i definitely prefer Bakerzinn! I love their strawberry cheesecake.

some chocolate cake with a layer of hazelnut crust....

was not bad.. dark chocolate was used. In comparison, i think i prefer four leave's coco exotic. its a fudge cake which went very well with the hazelnut crust.

and the toppled over pink strawberry cake...

its bandung flavoured... and i absolutely love the macroon on top! Their macroon is one of the best i've ever had!!

My dearest dar, thank cute for the surprise... i really appreciate it! Its been awhile since i've been surprised.. haha.. thank cute so much!

Chippy's British Takeaway

MY SWEET DAR DAR.. she planned to come over to surprise me! She knows i chose to stay home to avoid spending money because vitamin M is running seriously low.

she came and she bought along chippy's fish ..

and sausage....

i've raved a no. of times about chippy's sausage.. big, thick with melted cheese flowing out. the fish with salt and vinegar is also pretty good. Would be better if the batter was thinner, in my view.

Starbucks

after dinner, we walked on back to the starbucks at vivo for coffee.

I had my toffee nut latte... warm....

its good! and wif this, this is probably my 4th consecutive cup for the last 4 days. Christian's treat, thank cute.
