Ajisen

the ramen we had...

notice my ton toro is pretty brown. Sigh.. its already a changed bowl. They just dun seem to get what i mean by i dun want it overcooked... dun want it crispy.

our sides...

we had the fish, the prawns, soft shell and ran ku. the fish @ the novena branch tastes better in my view. the rest, i shant say since Ajisen is probably about to hit the most frequently visited restaurant on my listings. haha

thank cute Xinhui for the treat!

Missy Donut

Saw Missy Donut @ Plaza Singapura's basement...

bought one to try..

their chocolate almond nuts one. Shared it wif Xinying, she said.. " totally tasteless ". hahha.. for me, its not that bad la. Its edible.. summore no queue. haha

Pasta de Waraku

We did lunch at Pasta de Waraku.

Xinhui had a hamburger steak pasta...

a closer up view...

it was pretty good. Xinhui quite likes it.

as for me, i was tempted to order the waraku oyster carbonara but Xinhui prompted me to try something i've not tried... and den i felt so spoilt for choice again.

in the end, i decided to order their doria (baked rice) again. The previous time i was here, the baked rice i ordered had an egg on top.. but this salmon and spinach one didnt (as per what we saw based on the pictures on the menu)... so i kinda asked Xinhui... " do u think i can ask them to add an egg? "... instantaneously, i reminded myself of the country bumpkins in the movies.. " chao fan jia gai " hahaaa

in the end, we braced ourselves and popped the question. haha... answer is, CAN LEH. Just add $1!

my salmon n spinach doria (wif gai)....

my $1 egg...

looks so darn good doesnt it?

and we also shared a pizza....obviously had difficulty finishing... but had to order coz had to let Xinhui try how good the pizza is...

LOOK! so thin!

Spize

We were deciding on where to have dinner but in the end decided to go to Spize. They started by telling me theres this place with super nice nasi ayam.... how crispy the chicken is, how tasty the fried rice is. den Aloy went.. " heard of Spize? " hahaha... he was half expecting me to say no... but it was a yes. Spize is located along River Valley Road. (near liquid kitchen and boon tong kee river valley.. its that stretch)

i had milo dinosaur while meina had some lychee drink...

the lychee drink was nice! and a generous amt of lychees.

we shared the roti john chicken special..

the inside...

sure doesnt look like any average roti john right (not dat i've had much roti john before)? But its really nice.

and they both had the nasi ayam...

a closer up view...

meina really really likes the rice. She finds it really tasty. i find it not bad. chicken wise, i gotta admit its really really good. skin is soooo crispy.

also had the paper prata of this place which i really like!

its so thin and its got sugar inside!

they also ordered a bisteak fried rice...

its a mutton dish.. so i didnt try.. and they couldnt finish so we ta bao. Oh! we also saw celebrity Chen Hanwei there. anyway, this place always reminds me of farah n issey.. haha.. time to meet up!

Delifrance Bistro

met up wif meina for lunch and she specially came all the way to novena to lunch wif me. thanks babe!

meina had their onion soup..

was pretty alright, had a layer of cheese on top.

I had my lobster bisque...

which i've always felt is really good. Love theirs and Jack's Place's lobster bisque because the hay gor taste is pretty strong.

Meina had the steak.....

which was ard $20 odd and i dun think its nice. I think delifrance works better wif delis, their mains and all require much improvements.

i went for the egg croissant...,

was just in the mood for egg mayo. Delifrance does it well.

Michelangelo's

After the Shanghai Tang International Polo tournament was the asado party (held at the Singapore Polo Club). I didn't know what's asado but Esther said its an argentina bbq where they typically would haf lamb...

the lamb does look good. and the fact that it was polished off the fastest should be a good indicator (i dun take lamb).

the beef...

grilled....

the beef was SO GOOD! slighty charred on the outside and nicely marinated with sea salt. Mmm...

the chicken wings.....

which was pretty good as well.

the catering for today was by Michelangelo's...

some egg plant dish...

some onion and tomato dish...

another dish..

didn't try the three dishes above but they, together with the other dishes look very appetising.

the pasta salad...

which was pretty good.

the rice...

which was also quite nice as well.

roasted potatoes....

nice.

and the pastas...

a closer view...

i can't identity the different pastas except for the lasagne. I do recall one of it had mushrooms though. anyway, all 3 pastas were the cheesy creamy type and they were all yummilious. I koe couple days back i did mention Purple Sage would be my choice for catering, now i find myself caught in between. haha

desserts wise, Michelangelo's was the clear winner between the two though... they had tiramisu......

and it was kick ass tiramisu, not just any ordinary tiramisu. It was so so so so so good! even better den the one from Da Paolo which Lionel recommended. I loved it!

and if that's not all, there was also brandy cherries....

yum!

god gave his blessings, the weather was good. the asado party was held beside the polo field with blazing fire torches brightening up the night...

it was a great bbq.

Miss Clarity Cafe

Xinhui and Tse Boon came to pick me up and we went for lunch at Miss Clarity Cafe.

i koe i koe i just went wif Jianhe 2 days ago. haha.. but i made the date wif Xinhui first actually. Jianhe's visit was impromptu.

the soup of the day dat came wif the set was cream of corn soup...

i didnt like it.

Tse Boon ordered egg salad coz apparently he seldom eats lunch...

the salad looked rather normal.

Xinhui's fish baked rice....

it looks like it was exploding wif fish! haha

taste wise i found it alright. Xinhui seemed to like it.

we also shared nuggets under my suggestion...

and i, being the same boring person, always haf the tendency to repeat my food if i find it nice so its not hard to guess wat i ordered. haha

yes, beef stew....

a closer up view...

Yummiliously good!

the bread pudding...

and xinhui's hazelnut praline....

she loved it. i didnt coz its dark chocolate. its not not nice.. in fact i think many people will like it... im just weird.. haha.. i dun like dark chocolate which most people do.

and xinhui was so sweet. she treated me for lunch. thank cute dear!
