The Lounge

We headed over to hotel intercontinental for tea...

there was someone playing by the piano too...

service here sucked big time. staffs were totally snobbish. Even their management didnt care. even their feedback forms was only concerned about their food n drinks pricing etc. terrible!

our drinks!

i had the tropical punch...

on the menu it was said to come wif sprite but i couldnt quite taste the frizzy sprite.

Joey had a gunner... some ginger ale wif duno what ginger beer .. very gingerish drink. haha

ishan's honeydew and green apple juice...

and they ordered fries...

which tasted like mcdonalds fries except much more expensive. haha

Incontro

Joey and Ishan recommended this place at Robertson Quay - Incontro....

located along the stretch where Shunjuu and Liang Kee is...

the interior...

probably because of the very big open doors, the indoors didnt feel very air-conditioned either.

the decor pretty much reminded me of the very westernised cellars and fireplaces... i think this place is pretty big on wine.

one of the server (whom we think is probably also the lady boss) was very friendly and was very patient in explaining their different items to us when we were deciding on the cold cut....

the different different ham they had...

to begin, we were served some complimentary bread...

den our cold cut platter arrived ($20)...

a closer up look of the different items...

it was simply fabulous! Most of the ham items were yum. I paticularly loved their buffalo cheese with tomatos! the texture was good!

and of coz, MY FAVOURITE PAMMA HAM!!

on rock melon! also part of the platter!

I love love love pamma ham.

i suspect the lady boss was actually nice enuff to customise the platter above for us. usually its actually 5 different types of ham. I love it so much. i so wana head back for it!

for mains, we shared the following. Ishan was raving to me dat they have the best vongole that she has ever tried...

it really was not bad. the pasta texture was good.. generous amount of clams and most importantly, the taste of the white wine sauce.. it was not overpoweringly strong yet flavoursome. It was good.

steak...

omg.. their steak was really really good! the mashed potato went so so well with the sauce! the beef was flavoursome and had dat oomph!

den it was the lasagne...

it was not wowing on first bite but the tastes gets to u. in fact, we never realised this until joey pointed it out. almost all the dishes were not the WOW THIS IS GREAT STUFF on first bite kind of food. But almost instantaneously on 2nd bite, the taste just kinda makes u wana lift up your thumb to say.. THIS IS GOOD STUFF. haha.. the taste lingers on and makes you want more!

desserts wise, we had a molten chocolate cake....

gotta admit initially when we saw it arriving like dat looking a bit wobbly, we were kinda skeptical. But when we dug in and saw that warm oozing chocolate fudge...

MMmmmm mmmmmm!! YUMMY!! its so good! the pastry is warm and slightly crispy on the outside. the oozing chocolate fudge remains in the container and you can just scoop it up. darn good!

den it was the panna cotta...

great stuff! i was just missing valentino's panna cotta. Shan said she feels dat this is better den valentino's. I feel this panna cotta reminds me of the white rabbit milk candy kinda milky. i think i prefer valentino's one. its more solid in texture. But generally, i like both!

Joey treated, thank cute!

the lady was quite nice, also gave us 1 for 1 lunch vouchers. Apparently this place has yet to be officially launched. I so want to come back again.

Bakerzin

Dinner with Simon at Bakerzin.

for drinks, i had the lychee tea and he had the lychee mint...

the lychee mint has always been a cute drink to order. tastes good and looks cute. like some smoothie. but our dear simon who just got back from aussie has super high standards. everything also he seems to feel can be better. haha

my hazelnut pasta....

i do really like the taste and the generous amount of cheese flakes! I did try to attempt to get them to change the ham they used to something else for me but the request did not come through. I really didnt like the ham they use.

as for simon, haha.. he took some time to decide before finally ordering the lu rou fan. i suspect he ordered it coz he could already tell dats the second item on the menu dat i'd like to have. hahaha...

i like their lu rou! nicely done.. but simon complained its too salty. and i like their runny yolk for their hard boiled egg.

desserts time!

he chose the strawberry cheesecake...

increasingly, many places are having cheesecake desserts dat look like ice cream with the very yummy biscuit crumbs. yum.

and den i went for the jivara....

thick layer of milk chocolate mousse that is not too sweet followed by a good thick layer of hazelnut crust. MMMmmm Mmmm...! YUM!

New York New York

Crabby, anna and myself went for dinner at New York New York.

we shared the food. A smoked salmon salad...

Mmmm Mmmm.. the smoked salmon was good!

anna was kinda funny. when i was take the picture and my flash shined onto the fish, she commented.. " omg, i thot they installed bulbs on the fish! " hahaha...

and fish and chips...

huge piece of fish... i like the cut.. thick!

Eighteen Chefs

One of my appointments today was around the area where Ben Ben's office is so i popped by to say hi and did a very quick lunch with him. He brought me to this placed called Eighteen Chefs. It is said to have super a lot of variety of baked rice and pasta etc....

i saw my name!

ben ben went for the set which came with iced lemon tea...

i think their iced lemon tea is the home brewed kind... nice!

garlic bread....

thick toast and the garlic spread was yummy.

i ordered a red white beef baked rice...

i must say they were very generous with the beef slices. And its quite cheap. around $10 if i recall correctly. worth a try!

Canele

After dinner, we headed to Canele for desserts.

their chocolate molten cake...

comes with cream instead of ice cream. its pretty good i'd say.

my fav strawberry shortcake...

today's one lacked the punch. it didnt haf dat moisture locked in texture. really disappointed because we literally waited for this.

Miharu

Dinner with Jeffrey at Miharu to celebrate his birthday....

Jeffrey had miso ramen...

which he commented dat the noodles were really good.

i went for the cold ramen...

i really liked the very noodle taste for their ramen.

Mezza 9

Cynthia offered to treat after that very expensive birthday treat i got her. Been hearing lotsa raves of Mezza 9 from Cynthia but never visited.

complimentary bread with some tomato-ish based sauce..

we shared a meat combo yakitori...

it was all pretty good. quality ingredients.

sauces...

vegetables to dip in the miso sauce...

we also shared a seafood combo...

all the seafood was nicely grilled and pretty fresh! its nice!

and the yang zhou fried rice...

also came with loads of quality ingredients.

for desserts, i had some caramel crumble thingy...

didnt find it fantastic.

cynthia ordered a nutella crepe thingy...

came wif bananas inside but very minimal nutella. so disappointing. i much prefer Canele's one.

thank cute cynthia for the damn expensive treat!
