Tel: 64781787

Opening hours: 10.30 am to 10.30 pm

Drinks we ordered....

i had a honey iced tea which was a bit too sweet but the taste was good. Andy had the papaya milk tea which the papaya taste is much stronger today. Loh gong zai had some red bean milk shake thingy which, in his words, is POWER and i thot it was quite good as well. haha.. and Kendi had the red pearl milk tea which was not bad.

We had the crispy fried chicken....

very nice!

smelly fried beancurd....

the inside...

pretty good but kendi refused to touch. haha

shui jiao...

The fillings....

the shui jiao is not bad...

The meat ball....

its actually some sticky rice cake like thingy outside and fillings inside...

not as meatball-ish as i thot.

the pork floss and egg pancake...

the inside....

didnt really like it since the previous time i had it. not dat its not nice but i just didnt like it. loh gong zai found it ok though.. he saw them making the skin on spot so he was exceptionally impressed.

the lu rou fan....

like me, kendi likes the lu rou fan.. the sauce is so good and cant really taste the fats coz its so soft!

the whole meal came up to around $40 plus...

Jin Zhu

Walked past Jin Zhu (at Katong along the stretch where Aston's is)....

i recalled ah yee said uncle sq will like the kuehs and the other time when we walked back, the shop was closed already so i bought one for them and also bought for mummy and also bought kaya for loh gong zai....

the kueh which i duno the name....

and another kueh which i duno the name...

colour looks so vibrant!

Fresco

I noticed this shop called Fresco as we got off the car (along Katong).....

looks like some mini bistro like place..

theres a gelato corner....

the menu...

a healthy choice... fat free gelato (or so they claim)...

The flavours....

the friendly server....

couldnt resist, ended up with their dontorelle rock... which as wat the person recommended, actually tastes like ferrero rochero. Which was so good in my view! Also had lychee which kendi liked... i felt the lychee.. something was lacking....

but overall, it was nice! think i'll be back for the ferrero rochero flavour!

Broth

Loh gong zai was asking me if i want good food or bad food for dinner. i told him i had such a bad day at work so i want good food! So we arranged to go to L'Angelus at Club Street. But when we got to L'Angelus, it was fully booked! Argh... we ended up going over to Broth for dinner......

The complimentary bread... served toasted....

The butter today doesnt taste as good as usual though.

For starters, we had goose liver......

A closer up view.....

i think Broth's goose liver is one of the nicer ones i've had.

scallops.....

its loh gong zai's favourite starter for tonight. the scallops are big and fresh!

comes with quail eggs.....

the quail eggs are bouncy with the soft yolk! VERY NICE!

The prawns cocktail.....

The thousand island like sauce that came with it had a bit of alcohol taste.. making it special.. and nice!

and its got some lemon jelly like thingy below the prawns which i kinda liked.

A closer up view.....

For mains, loh gong zai ordered the venison.....

a closer up view....

he ordered it to be medium....

The verdict, loh gong zai gave his 2 thumbs up and said.. " its perfect ". He was so satisfied and it really tasted great be it in terms of taste or tenderness. He's definitely coming back for it. It was so tender!

i tried the duck....

a closer up view....

another view....

i found the duck ok.. and of coz, comparing it to the venison, we both were for the venison.. haha.. but the duck was really not bad also.. just dat we prefer the venison.

And we tried their Little Creatures.. think its some beer.....

i think they imported this in themselves.. after loh gong zai tried the first mouth, he told me its got abit of honey taste. I sniffed it a bit and its true! Smelled so good! I tried it as well.. its kinda sweet and unlike normal beer.. i like! haha

Not-sure-what-brand Japanese Mochi

Went to uncle sq's place with Jianhe and uncle sq let us try some japanese mochi given by his vendors.. not sure of the brand coz its all in japanese words....

Nicely packaged....

and each one is so delicately packed....

comes with a small pack of sugar syryp like thingy... and a small wooden stick like thingy to pick up the mochi.. so fine!

the mochi....

Jianhe and Ooi added the sugar syrup... i didnt add but it was nice enuff! in fact, its VERY NICE!! its totally like that mochi from Kyotosabo! those bought from shops in singapore are no fight in my view!

Lucky Western Food

Jianhe came to pick me up from work den asked if i wana do dinner together. He recalled the western food stall near my place that ping jie jie had recommended so we went there.

Lucky Western Food is located at blk 123 Geylang East Ave 1.

Jianhe had chicken cutlet....

we had previously raved about the fish and chips to jianhe but after trying the chicken cutlet, jianhe feels dat he likes the chicken cutlet better....

i had chicken chop....

delicious!

and jianhe had the honour of helping me finish the bun, fries, beans and coleslaw! haha.. not coz its not nice but i was just not a sides of that kind person.

Waraku

Jianhe and i had wanted to head to Astons but we realised it was closed and we ended up at Katong Village's Waraku. I applied for the membership!

Pay $40 cash and get a $50 voucher when u receive ur card. Subsequently, u'll get 10% discount off ur meals at Waraku!

Jianhe ordered shishamo....

The shishamo was alright.. i guess im gradually not much of a shishamo person

den i ordered the maguro with quail egg sushi....

i realised katong village's one isnt as good as the east coast branch's.

for mains, needless to say, i sticked to my minced tuna rice!

den i called kendi to check which is the noodle dat loh gong zai was in love with at waraku. realised they kinda changed their menu a bit and now they haf this hot cream udon! Jianhe, who was accomodating to my desire to try it yet unwilling to forsake my minced tuna rice, decided to order it. hahaha

Horenso and bacon cream...

its bacon and spinanch in cream sauce accompanied with udon noodles....

and its a very big bowl!

its nice! jianhe found it nice also! Mmmm! no wonder loh gong zai loves it. haha.. i think loh gong zai likes the scallop version.

Dinner was a treat from Jianhe! thank cute!
