'haus of JOCKolate

Meina specially arranged for a surprise today for aloysious' big 3 birthday on the yacht! took her a lot of planning for it to be a surprise coz he is always with her.

i got him the cake from an online store called haus of Jockolate. i'd say the baker was really quite a creative designer to have been able to do up this yacht. he did however arrive a little late for the delivery and almost spoilt the surprise and he also forgot the knife and candle but else the cake was great. it was yummy.. its a chocolate cake with a layer of hazelnut crisp. the rest all said the cake was nice and the design was really creative...

happy birthday aloy!

you can order from him at

decent though not the freshest around town.

pasta wif fish roe...

this was nice. its in cream sauce and very tasty. statue really liked it too.

fried omelette with cheese and ham....

looks very appetising but better to be shared.

scallop pizza....

very very thin crust pizza.

golden mushrooms rolled with beef....

and some yaki tori ...

a iced mocha for my leonard....

coffee is supposed to be special for him (pte joke)

Grilled squid...

really nice texture except i didnt like the sauce which was a little too sweet for my liking.

fish roe salad...

funny how they managed to do the fish roe up in cubes! interesting.

and although we were really full, they got desserts to share!

my perfect excuse was, i dont eat mango! haha.. but the cookies and cream ice cream was quite nice!

happy birthday to my boys!

Spruce

arranged to meet up with carol, anna and winnie to check out Spruce. it was quite hard to locate the place, the GPS didnt seem to be able to locate the place at all!

but it was well worth the hunt! the place really seemed like it was located out of nowhere and had the old colonial style of decor with slight traces of contemporary...

winnie had a tuna tar tar with avocado....

the thing about their food is, it really looks damn appetizing. taste wise, its pretty fine. i didnt think it was WOW and in fact to some extent, some of the food tasted quite home cooked.

anna had some typical english breakfast thingy...

their macaroni and cheese...

i didnt really like the macaroni and cheese. it was fine, it was edible but i didnt like that the cheese taste was so mild. i think i liked kenny roger's macaroni and cheese much better. haha

carol had a love for pancakes so she went for the blueberry pancakes...

she was sold on the spruce breakfast trip after i showed her pics of the pancakes lisa and her friends posted on facebook. haha.. the pancakes were really good i'd say.

as for myself, i had the bluecheese burger...

it was not bad and the potatoes by the side were rightly seasoned.

Wild Honey

havent met up with jacqueline for years so we decided to arrange to catch up. she brought along 2 friends, colin and clement. i suggested wild honey coz i've been meaning to check out the place. apparently its some breakfast place where they serve all day breakfast. its located at mandarin gallery...

not a very big place but seems very popular.. queue started coming in by around 7.

my pick on the place is they dont have a menu where you can view from your seat. its all written very creatively on the walls using chalks but they are too small to be seen from the seats. you can also view pictures of their delectable dishes using the ipad by the counter but then again, this means only one to view at a time. creative, yes... but quite annoying.

jacqueline ordered some kinda chicken salad thingy..

not pleasing to me. haha

roasted potatoes which i found were just ok....

some tako pachi like item which was not bad...

the boys ordered some chicken sandwich dish...

i took pics of all their food.. forgot to take pics of my own! but i recall mine was pretty yummy. colin treated for dinner. thank cute!

Il Tartufo (Bangkok)

Il tartufo is located at Sukhumvit Soi 51. i jokingly told Kaizhi i've more or less understood thailand already. the central is where most tourist will stay where all the major departmental stores are nearby. on the most eastern part is all the sukhumvit soi this soi that where all the clubs, the restaurants are hidden. at the top north is where chaktuchak is. and temples are pretty much all around with the most famous on on the utmost west. that pretty much sums up bkk. haha

il tartufo is very pretty!!

this is one of their outdoor seating....

we took seats inside...

complimentary appetiser....

cant really remember what it is but i remember it being really yummy! from it, we already felt hopeful about dinner.

for starters, we had a parma ham wrapped cheese thingy....

look at the cheese oozing out...

its super darn good!!! the parma's slightly saltish taste went very well with the cheese n of coz, the rockets. omg! SO GOOD!

i couldnt decide between the truffle pasta or the foie gras ravioli and since its been decided that we're not in bkk often, i ordered both!

the truffle pasta was mild in taste but had that truffle taste.

in comparison, i much preferred the foie gras ravioli...

it was heavenly!!

kaizhi ordered some seafood platter thingy...

which wasnt fantastic.

For desserts, we shared a creme brulee...

the creme brulee was nicely done.

and a warm chocolate cake...

which was also great!
