Vietnamist - Madam Saigon

I was craving for the vietnamist rice paper roll so i asked if Shin would like to try Vietnamist food. And so, it was Madam Saigon we went!

He was nice to let me take pics before tucking in....

The rice paper roll was called Summer Roll ... it did satisfy my craving. We both had the special beef noodle which was SUPER DUPER NICE (i immediately thot of bringing dar dar here to try). He agreed its really nice and he liked it as well. He also ordered a meat skewer which was not bad.

Italian - Prfgo

Arranged to meet up with dar it was Prfgo we went!

It was very packed. Dat was wat i didnt expect.

On every table, bread with a saucer of tomato sauce was served....

I thot the sauce was not bad. Dar said the bread elsewhere is better.. haha.. duno where she means!

and our food arrived!

We ordered a linguine seafood something.. and a ravioli which had cheese and spinach inside... and a daily poultry of the day which was baby chicken wif mashed potato. The linguine was.. just so so in my humble view.. the ravioli was not bad.. dar quite liked it.. the baby chicken was *thumbs up*! Very nice! Tender! Tasty! Juicy! Crispy on the outside!! Damn nice! But portion abit small. haha...

Cafe - Bakerzin (Jianhe's birthday)

Ping Jie Jie gave a birthday treat to Jianhe at Bakerzin and i was invited.

The food we ordered....

We had a mushroom soup, mushroom linguine in cream sauce, seafood crepe, aglio olio and a otah something. Everything was so delicious. We kinda shared everything. Din quite like the mushroom soup though coz it was not thick enuff.

Our drinks...

Jianhe and myself had the iced lychee mint (he was too lazy to decide on his own.. haha) which was really good! Ping jie jie tried the iced lime mint....

and for dessert..... hehe...

We shared a sweet pleasure (my recommendation after Humbert got them for me the other day), strawberry shortcake (been craving for it!) and the warm chocolate cake (ping jie jie's favourite).

OOOoo.. it was a great meal!

Chill - Villa Bali (Eve of Easter Day)

Humbert said he had got Jack to bring us to villa bali after dinner tonight because he koes i've not been there. hmm.. oki.. sounds nice..

Soon we arrived at Villa Bali! Located very near SAJC, the HP and PSA building....

The place is surprisingly very packed despite its rather ulu location. And i realised Handle Bar is right beside it. I cant remember where or when or what i've heard about Handle Bar but i'm pretty sure i've heard of it.

Villa Bali is beautiful.. though certain seats can be pretty warm. I pretty much like the setting.

The food they ordered...

and drinks wise, Lea had iced lemon tea, Jack had beer, Humbert had coke light... all nothing special... hehe..

I had Kahlua!

I remember K previously telling me that i should try it if i like Baileys. So i did! Its kinda sweet and cannot really taste the alcohol. Comparatively, i prefer Baileys though.

HK Cafe - Central (Eve of Easter)

Dinner with Jack, Lea and Humbert.

Our orders....

standards have dropped. Not as nice as previously.

But the baked rice did still smell very nice.. haha.. Jack who ordered the beef hor fun was smelling my baked rice....

And he kept asking me if i wana exchange! haha..

Japanese - Kushinbo (Elyn's Birthday)

Lunch with Seafoodies (except Clammy) to celebrate Squiddy's birthday...

I met up with Crabby and we went into Kushinbo first...

Their 60 mins buffet is priced at $19.80+++. Their normal lunch buffet is slightly more expensive, $23.90 +++.

Not wanting to rush ourselves, we opted for the $23.90 one..

we started digging in first.... Lea said she's here today to attack the sashimi!

and Kushinbo also had a good selection of tempura..

The tempura prawn was the BEST! We were so full i din try the soft shell crabs!

and their teppanyaki....

the teppanyaki was quite a disapppointment actually.. not very nice... especially the beef...

Elyn was the next to arrive.. Elyn took a handroll and the handroll was wrapped in a plastic sheet... we had quite a hard time trying to figure out how to remove the sheet.. in the end, the nice and friendly server came to demostrate to us...

Sonia was the latest to arrive!

anyway, when Sonia and Elyn went to get food, they came back with chawanmushi... when Lea and myself saw the colour of it, we were pretty put off.... But when we tried it, i personally thot it was DAMN NICE LOH!

Very nice!

And not forgetting, the spread of desserts they had.....

Lea is included in the dessert pics because she's such a candy as well! haha..

and the cream puff is so so nice! Its quite small so u can pop the whole thing in ur mouth (at least with a big mouth like mine, u can)... the exterior is sooooo crispy and covered with sugar icing....when you put the whole thing into ur mouth, the cream simply OOOOzessss out in ur mouth...

initially, when Elyn wanted to eat it, she was using chopsticks and spoon..

Lea and myself were educating her.. haha.. telling her dat its so OFF to use those... even using fingers would be better... and we kept urging her to put the whole thing into her mouth at a go.. but she kept saying its too big... haha...

aside from the cream puff, there was also a very small, pretty cute oreo cheesecake....

its so good! It melts in ur mouth!

Overall, the meal was pretty good. Pretty worth it! Clammy, wished u had joined us. U would like it!

Bakerzinn

For the whole afternoon, Humbert kept asking me what i like from Bakers Inn, what i like from Carls Jr, and actually, haha.. i had already suspected hes gonna try to attempt to 'surprise' me again...

But his surprise was confirm spoilt by ping jie jie.. haha.. she sent me a text saying... " some1 vv xin fu hor. Got cartel n baker's inn on e way... Sooo sweet... " haha.. she bumped into him at the MRT station but she din call out to him but texted me to tease me instead coz she din koe it was meant to be a surprise. haha..

He got me cakes from bakerzin and munchers from cafe cartel....

the whole afternoon he was trying to ask me wat cake i like from bakers inn.. i like their strawberry short cake and some chocolate cake wif a layer of hazelnut praline below... he couldnt get those dat i wanted so in the end he got me a Strawberry cheesecake and another chocolate cake dat was recommended called Sweet Pleasure.....

So to energize myself from my school work at 3 am......

i had the sweet pleasure he bought at around 3 am... It was soooooo GOOD! Its like eating chocolate! And it also has a layer of hazelnut praline! Its much better den the original chocolate cake dat i like from Bakerz Inn... Thanks Humbert!

Cartel

Humbert arrived with a surprise for me....

He got me cakes from bakerzin and munchers from cafe cartel....

He got me munchers from Cartel upon knowing dat i miss it....

Munchers are very nice.. its like potato bits covered with a layer of cheese! Very nice!

and he even remembered to get my favourite sauce from Cartel!

This is their curry mustard sauce. I'm not much of a sauce person but i quite like this particular sauce from Cartel and he remembers!

Although.. he did also get the other sauces....

haha.. so i dun really koe if he really remembers.

Bei Fang Feng Wei

We arranged to go over to Bei Fang Feng Wei located at Smith Street. After seeing the shop's fried fish on Yummy King some time ago, Andy's been wanting to try it.

The menu of Bei Fang Feng Wei...

The interior of the place.. actually its just a very small shop....

the dishes we ordered.....

The dishes were all pretty nice.. the fish was quite good.... but the dishes were all one size despite our big group. But it was good also because it allowed us to order more dishes to try! I quite liked the fish and the pork slices where u wrap it urself..

and while the guys were smoking..... the 8 pcs chicken wings came.... there were 11 of us altogether and minus off the 3 smokers, haha.. well, what else was there to do?

Now u see it.....

Now you don't!!!

and to tease the smokers, we assembled the bones back onto the plate....

The whole dinner after dividing, only costs $13 plus per person. Very worth it in our view.
