Terra Tokyo Italian Restaurant

for dinner, she brought me over to Terra over at Tras street. It was omakase style.

first dish was an uni toast...

oh yes, check out the UNI!!!

It was GOOD! like seriously GOOD!!!

second dish was a tiger prawn sashimi like thingy...

it was also SO AWESOME! SO LITTLE BUT SO AWESOME! like the scampis!

3rd dish is crab pasta...

the crab meat was so bouncy it almost tasted like lobster. the pasta texture was also really bouncy (the kind i like). Taste of the tomato base was also good. Overall an enjoyable dish!

Next up was the iberico pork risotto

flavourful in taste. Also good.

next was the beef. It was so good! Charred on the outside with some fats, OMG..

So tender and so juicy. One bite you can tell its good quality meat! I didn't fancy the sauce like how i usually like it with just salt and pepper but bunny liked the sauce.

Dessert was Kiwi ice cream with fruits. It may not look exciting (which was what i initially thought) but turned out the fruits were really good! Right down to how soft the pear was!

Overall it was a nice meal!

Old Hen Kitchen

Lunch was at Old Hen Kitchen! Heard some raves about this new outlet that they started out at 127 Owen Road, a street away from their Rangoon Road joint...

Despite it being a weekday noon, it was still actually pretty crowded...

of course, the drinks are a must! Old Hen still has the best Cold Brew ever! and i went for the peppermint chocolate. In fact, been pretty into peppermint mocha for starbucks lately!

and this new Old Hen Kitchen serves food with an open concept kitchen. The menu was small (as in limited) but good enough for a small cafe.

We had the salmon and soba...

Bunny loved it. For one, the doneness of the salmon was just right. a little medium rare like, very good. the soba was chilled and served with some sweetish sauce. But thats also why I'm not a fan but bunny really liked the sweet sauce. her favourite dish here.

the pork belly with rice is what got us here. I saw loads of raves about it....

I love the quail egg. it was molten! very yummy!

I also liked that they did it with brown rice.

But i didn't quite fancy the sauce or the pork belly. It was a little too sweet for my fancy and the meat wasn't as tender. so I'm not raving about it.

The ahi tuna salad...

I LOVE the looks of it! Taste wise was ok too. Not bad.

was struggling between this or the truffle fries but figured bunny will want try this. Chilli crab fries...

i will say the chilli crab fries was on point. the sauce was just right, not too spicy and a little sweet with a good amount of crab meat. i think its the way chilli crab sauce is like.

Overall it was a nice lunch!

Twg

The cod fish dish they have is really good!

The cod fish was crispy on the outside and not overly oily. The bottom part was some quinoa like item which went very well with the stock. Very tasty!

The lobster and avocado salad....

I love this! The lobster chunks were succulent and the avocado chunks were soft. Very yummy!!

We also shared a squid ink pasta which was also really tasty...

I must say, I'm surprised twg has such yummy food. Haha but it really is quite good!

I also love their iced grand wedding tea. Fruity! Very refreshing, sweet and fruity!

Fukusen

Can't get over that image of the uni bowl on the menu of Fukusen so lunch was there hoping that it's available today. And it is!!

Check out that hill (not enuff to call mountain but good enuff to say it's hill) of uni!!

Oh so good! Fresh and it's so worth it! Only $37! Very yummy!

Mon bijou

When asked to suggest a place for our Xmas gathering, mon bijou very quickly came to mind for it's yummy food, reasonable pricing and comfortable seats!

They seemed to have changed their menu a little, my favorite angle hair truffle pasta is gone :(

But the rest of the items are there with some new items that are have proved to be as good!

Like this beef salad...

Generous amount of beef slices that are good in terms of taste and texture and bottom is my favorite spinach! Oh so good!

Prawn twisters with squid ink sauce....

These are so good too! Generous amount of prawns wrapped in spring roll skin.

Truffle fries....

Hard to go wrong with Parmesan cheese sprinkled!

Some chicken wrapped dish...

And of course, the crazy crazy awesome French toast!!

Everyone loved the food and the recommendations!

Bedrock

Lunch with the birthday girl at Bedrock. We went for the 3 course set lunch ($58). Comes with starter, mains and dessert!

For starters, we went for the salmon cube and lobster bisque...

The salmon cube was awesome!

The lobster bisque was also really good! Thick and flavorful!

The mains was a ribeye steak and the New York steak.

Ribeye steak...

Pretty juicy and quite tender! Preferred among the two.

The New York steak is thicker and leaner...

And of course, the other have to order is the mac and cheese!

This is incredibly incredibly good! Crazy awesome! Best in singapore! It's even got a slight truffle taste, very very good with a charred top.

Fukusen

This is one new found treasure introduced by my cousin Wendy!

Carefully hidden in Hotel Clover (jalan sultan), Fukusen serves amazing Japanese food at very reasonable prices!

Small cozy restaurant!

A good variety of items on the menu!

Chawanmushi!

One with truffle, one with foie gras!

Both were good but the foie gras one was better! The flavour was there and they weren't stingy!

Salmon carpaccio !

Nicely done!

Chicken karage!

Their chicken karage is so good! Served hot, crispy and tender chicken thigh/drum meat. So good!

N of coz, sashimi!

They were nice to let us replace items that we don't eat like tuna and replaced with items we do eat. The sashimi was fresh and awesome particularly the prawn!

This bowl of scallop with sea urchin and aburi foie gras is going for only $37!

It was crazy awesome!

They even have one that's all uni which was unavailable today. It's ok, we will be back!!!!!!!!

Australia Dairy Company (Hong Kong)

Australia dairy company is MUST visit for every HK visit!

In fact, we came over yesterday only to find it closed, we were really disappointed! So to you guys who are intending to head down, please note that they are closed every Thursday!

We went for their set A breakfast which came with macaroni with ham, toast with egg (must order their scrambled) and a drink!

While I thought their macaroni is so so, bunny really liked it.

The toast however was incredible! Spread with butter, it tasted amazing! The scrambled eggs were out of this world! I have said this before, I say it again. It's just scrambled eggs, how is it so amazing?!!!!

Their tea was awesome too!

And of course, their smooth steamed milk!

Can't stop thinking about it! We overheard the conversation between the two ladies who were sharing our table, one lady said to the other " next time I come Hong Kong, I must find a hotel near Australian Dairy because I want to have breakfast here everyday! " hahahaa

ME TOO!

Yat Lok (Hong Kong)

When in Hong Kong, roast goose is one of the most popular must eat! Yung Kee is one of the most popular one. Recently, I was introduced to Yat Lok. It is just one lane away from Yung Kee....

Space wise it's definitely much smaller than Yung Kee, like a cha Chan Teng but apparently really popular for their roast goose too.

And Michelin award winner!

Roast goose with super crispy skin...

I must say their roast goose is really good! Super crispy skin and fatty skin too! Better than the Yung Kee

The char Siew..

Also good but the goose was much better!

Dim Sum Icon (Hong Kong)

We chanced upon this place as we were walking along Central....

A crayon shin concept cafe!

This is a 真真假假西瓜糕!

It's like jelly but really has the watermelon taste! It's quite good!

We also ordered a chocolate bun....

U should check out the clip below with the chocolate sauce oozing out!

And they serve frozen beer, they call it papa beer and mama beer!

The mama beer is Sakura flavoured frozen beer, a little sweet and really good!

The center one is some peach frizz that wasn't superb thou. But it was cute!

An interesting place to visit coz of its concept.
