Superstar K

So the gf was craving for bbq so we landed at superstar k!




What I like about superstar, is their meat! So tender!

What I don't like, their pricing (haha) and the fact that they only serve 2 rounds of side dishes. 

But overall, nice food!

Siang Kee Seafood Restaurant

Located at taman Sentosa, many people will discourage me to be here but I really like their crayfish. The size and the way it is cooked! 

Also, pricing wise it really ain't all that pricey.

Located within the taman Sentosa market area....




And yes, we are here for the cray fish!


Big chucks of them! 1kg is ringgit $80. Given the exchange rate now it's only s$20 odd. Plus the meat is big and succulent, very well worth it! This 1kg order has about 12 - 14 pieces!


We also had the pumpkin in salted egg yolk 


This item is so so so good. The pumpkin is thinly sliced while the salted egg yolk is slightly salty. It's really good as agreed by everyone.

We also shared a cereal prawn which was about $30 ringgit!

The Populus

Lunch with mr and mrs little bee at The Populus located at Neil road...


Reservation was made but we were late and they were that popular, they gave up our seats even though we called to say we were on our way. So had to wait a bit further. 

Sunantha ordered the Populus scramble which is quite a delight to look at


It's crossiant topped with scrambled egg and bacon! The scrambled was not bad and the bacon is the kind I like! Not overly salty yet kinda fatty and soft. Looks so good! 

Little bee had the pork belly sandwich...



Which was decent 

And I had the beef ragout pappardelle 



Overall it was decent but found the pasta a little too thick, not the texture that I usually like - like the one from bistecca for example. 


I also had a top up of scrambled eggs


Which was pretty decent too!

And I liked my iced chocolate


Little bee's latte was topped up with my Xmas gift of a customised marshmallow!


And desserts!

We had the lemon and the chocolate sundae





The lemon sundae was really good! Esp with the sponge cake on the side. Yummy!

Lawry's

Oh American Express, how I love thee!


Thank you, thank you for getting lawrys into your 50% off list of participating merchants! 

Right when the girlfriend and I heard about it, it was a MUST GO for us!

We have been craving for the prime rib and the Yorkshire pudding for awhile! 

With this 50% off, we are pretty sure we will be back often!

And because there's the 50% off, aside from the scrumptious side of the lobster tail (which is very good by the way), we also ordered the jumbo prawn cocktail (coz we can't get over how good the one at Mortons is). But sadly, the one at lawrys is very sad. Just didn't cut it. 


The one at Morton felt bigger and in a whole piece without being sliced into half.

But aside from that, all else was just fabulous! Enjoyed our prime rib as we always do!

Everything with Fries

It was a spur of the moment desire to have a slightly better lunch (as in compared to market food) and alone. Was at bugis' EWF.



To EWF, you have an amazing Har jiong gai burger! I love the taste, I love the size and I love that you use thigh meat coz it's tender! 



But I do think you ought to invest in silver cutlery than the plastic ones - even though yes I know you are sort of fast food not fast food style. 

And I highly recommend you offer options of add on patties to big eaters like me. I was craving for a beef patty as well but there was no such add on option unless I order another burger on its own.

By doing that, you are limiting yourself to the amount of business you can do with greedy meat lovers like me! And you are helping not to waste food! 

And please bring back the Har giong gai nuggets! I helped introduced it to many of my friends, they all loved it but you took it away :(



And oh, they now serve truffle fries, super  good ones! Not overly pricey too!

10 on Scotts

High tea date with Xinying and the three little ones. We were Reminiscing  on our high tea here when charming was probably only 2 or 3. How time flies!






So yeah it was high tea back at the cozy 10 on Scotts! And they have brought back the scheme of free flow coffee, tea or chocolate. And yes, this means I can order iced chocolate, iced mocha, iced latte, iced lemon tea, hot chocolate, free flow! Love it! 

Because it's CNY, they added a mini Yu sheng served in a tier!



The Yu sheng was actually pretty good and a nice touch! 

Within the tier included some forgettable viet rolls and a very yummy crab cake! 

Included in the festive list is also nian gao!

Yes, a pretty good spread for high tea!

And very very very importantly, they serve one of the best scones! I love them!




Love it with that cream. Oh so yummy!

N now that they have lifted the limit on drinks (which I failed to take pictures of coz table was too messy), I will be back for more of 10 on Scotts!

I love the laksa at EAT. In fact if I need a laksa fix, Katong wouldn't exactly be where I will go. 

To me, EAT is convenient and most importantly, I love that they have that Beancurd skin thingy that goes super well with the laksa sauce!

Knowing my fancy for this cheese Swiss roll, fishy bought it for me when she went to Medan! 




This is super nice! The sponge cake part is yummy and the cheese is actually side Swiss cheese like cheese strips. I love this!


Anyone going Medan, please buy this back for me!

Mortons


Bunny's birthday celebration today. We have both been craving for Lawry's but i wanted her to try something different and something she's not tried before. And know she likes her steak charred, i went for Morton's. Also, Morton's serve a slightly wider variety on their menu (but Lawry's, i still love you!)



I must admit i didn't exactly had a very good experience from my previous Morton's visit but today had been great. It was awesome. 




one of the reason why i chose Morton's for the occasion was also how they customise the menu with a birthday greeting and date above. Small gesture, great results. But sadly, the birthday girl didn't notice it! Next time bring in font size 30 or something ok?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUNNY!



For a start, we were served the big ass bread. 


Which we barely touched because we ordered a truckload of food. 

for appetisers, we ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail.... 




OMG! looks SO GOOD! Looking at the dish alone gets me so excited! Its the kind of dish that despite how this meal is going to cost a bomb, in my heart i'd say " I GAM GUAN PAY "

The prawns were huge and succulent. Wish there was more!


and of coz, we also ordered one of their signature Jumbo Crab Cake.... 


with big lumps of crab meat... 



To be honest, i have tried their crab cakes a number of times, each time i ordered i regret coz i didn't really like them. But every time i go i will still order it again! dunno why i so 变态 also! I guess i just have this thing for crab cakes.

BUT!!! Today's crab cake is DIFFERENT! In fact i really really liked it! the lumps of crab meat nicely seasoned. VERY YUMMY! Now that makes a legitimate reason for me to order it again! 


and also in the appetiser category, we ordered the mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto!

After 3 very awesome appetisers, we are damn full but DAMN HOPEFUL FOR THE STEAK!

Given our likings for Lawry's we wanted to order the Prime Rib too. But sadly, Prime Ribs are only avail on Fridays and Saturdays. But the server recommended that closest to Prime Rib is the Prime Ribeye. Again, we almost ordered 2 portions of it but decided to try another cut for the variety. Thank god we did that! For the other cut, we went for the Prime New York Strip!


Both cuts were GOOD!

and also another dish which makes the inner voice go " I GAM GUAN PAY !!"


Noted in small prints of the menu were enhancements that can be added to the steak. There was one that said Oscar's enhancements which included asparagus, crab meat with bearnaise sauce. 



was a good enhancement but got too gerhard for us. 

and i also ordered their asparagus, remembering how huge they were. Probably won't order this next time because it is merely just blanched. Bunny said she will do it for me at home! 



and for our love for Mac & Cheese, particularly comparing to the one at Bed Rock, we also ordered the Mac and Cheese. It was nice but we much prefer Bed Rock's. And i'm sorry Bed Rock, Morton's steak wins hands down so the next time we visit Bed Rock, it will be just for the Mac & Cheese. 




another thing on the 'enhancement' menu, is the foie gras cognac butter. like WOW! was pretty good but also got gerlard for us. 








and of course, a complimentary souffle from Mortons... 




chocolate flavoured, very good in my view! comes with traces of sugar crystals along the way. I love it!

Dear Mortons,

can we come every month and tell you its our anniversary? haha


Overall, a very good meal, excellent service and well worth the price!


Love every bit of it!
