oh so good! many coz we were hungry.. it came warm and crispy... nice!

NICE! but its quite expensive, $10 per box. But i think its probably the standard for pub prices.

Marche

today the animal family celebrates xmas and new year @ Marche vivo.. Marche had a pretty nice location i'd say.. wif all the glass windows and all...

and no more paper, its all card now...

marche's interior....

marche's interior always gives a very vibrant and chirpy feel.

mummy gorzilla ordered the salmon Caesar salad....

was pretty good. i rem marche used to haf long bacon strips for their caesar salad.

and rosti is usually ordered when @ marche.

i had the rost wif mushroom ragout...

its not wif the creamy mushrooms. i vaguely recall i've made a mental note before not to order it again because 1. its very expensive (around $12.80 i think.. normal rosti ranges from $4 plus to $6 plus) 2. it gets gerlard after awhile.

ah gong pig and ah mah pig shared the rosti wif garlic sausage....

according to ah gong pig, he insists that i state on my blog that the server was very rude. scenerio was like this..

Ah gong pig: " can i haf the rosti wif snail sausage? "
rude server: " we don't have snail sausage "
Ah gong pig (pointing to the blackboard menu): " its on the board "
rude server: " i cannot see what is on the board "
Ah gong pig: " ok, so what sausages do u have? "
rude server (starts to mumble): " we haf blah blah sausage, blah blah sausage and snail sausage "

WTH?

in the end, ah gong pig said.. " chin chai la, give me the garlic sausage "

HAHHAH.. actually, quite funny!

and master had the smoked salmon rosti...

the rostis were generally ok. i know marche's rosti has always been a love hate thing amongst my friends. i generally find it ok.. i prefer it when its not crispy.. which i koe, most people love it crispy.

nanny being a vegetarian went for the vegetarian pizza ...

didnt try, don't know if its nice.. but nanny said its very chewy and not warm.

i also got a fried dory fillet to share...

decent.

mummy gorzilla and xiaozhu bought a crepe and a cake to share as well...

at the speed of how fast the crepe disappeared while i was away, i'd assume its nice. haha..

the cake...

the cake's a bit too sweet but i love the grapes... its big, very sweet and its i duno if i can use this word to describe but its crunchy! crunchy on every bite.. n seedless! so nice!

La Nonna

the long awaited xmas pyjamas potluck party organised by xinying is finally here.

xinhui was the only one who bought the food. She brought pizza from la nonna!

i get excited at the sight of wild rockets and pamma ham these days and this pizza really got me excited!

i LOVE it! the pamma ham, the wild rocket, the cheese and the super thin crust! so nice, so nice, so nice!!

not sure what pizza (but also so nice so nice!!)

there are balls of meat and there's actually an egg in the centre. again on super thin crusts.. really good!

The rest of the food was really good as well... i had so much that i think i don't hafta eat for the next 3 days!

Ministry Of Food

gathering with my JC mates @ MOF. Its my first time at MOF (located at Bugis Junction level 2)!

interestingly, their tables are designed to have a compartment to place their menu.. so u dun hafta flag for the server each time u want the menu...

some of those who arrived first ordered sides to share..

some sushi...

it was pretty good. honestly i dun usually like sushi because i feel that theres too much rich.. too filling.. but this one is really quite nice

the seafood salad....

which looks like potato salad.. but actually there isnt much potato. haha.. but overall, its nice.

jinghua and i shared our mains. we had a tempura bento....

a close up of the tempura...

the tempura was not bad.. especially the prawns..

we also shared a cold soba...

firstly, i love the almond flakes they included. the seafood is also pretty fresh especially the prawns. the seasoning for the noodles seemed to haf a bit of sesame oil and wasabi.. i typically don't like wasabi but their wasabi is pretty mild and the taste gets to u after awhile. Jinghua said it tastes better after awhile. The noodles are very springy so overall its not bad.

the rest ordered other items but it was a long table and most of them i've not met for years.. haha.. paiseh to ask to take pictures of the food.

for desserts, kaizhi ordered the one dat i had originally thought of ordering....

the reason is obvious.. its the crunchy almond flakes! haha.. the red bean paste is chilled so overall its pretty nice. according to jinghua, the one from azabu sabo is warm. i thot i'd prefer it chilled.

yiting and jinghua's dessert...

and mine....

i requested to add almond flakes so they charged an additional 50 cents for it. their desserts cost about $6 - $8 on the average. not cheap i'd say but taste wise its pretty good. mine felt like it was a combination of everything.. want peach got peach.. want green tea ice cream got green tea ice cream.. want tang yuan got tang yuan, wat jelly got jelly, want soft serve got soft serve.. want fruits got fruits... haha.. just dat almond flakes need to add.

New Harbour Cafe

The seafoodies dec gathering was at the new harbour cafe...

Fishy ordered their bacon and mushroom aglio olio pasta....

it smells so good when it arrived. And upon the first taste, Squiddy went.. " mm.. mMMM.. MMM " and fishy said.. " this is just nice loh! ".. its really good except that it was a little oily towards the end but it was good. (of coz, xinying, nothing beats Ken's 6 star hotel chef aglio.. dat one is the bestest! haha)

i ordered the crackling roast pork because i remember its good....

and i was right! its really good.. both squid and fish gave their thumbs up!

squid ordered the fish and chips....

which is a forgettable dish... we didnt even manage to finish it.

Shengyang ordered the chicken chop i think...

it was alright, reminded me again of seoul garden chicken.

Rachie ordered the seafood pasta in cream sauce...

yum yum! Not too gerlard.. just nice!

squid, fishy and myself also shared a brownie wif ice cream....

the brownie crumbles quite easily but overall i find it nice. decent.

Shengyang paid for the meal btw, thank cute shengyang.. we had initially teased him about getting into our good books lest we get really harsh as jie mei on his wedding.. we told him to think long term and he really gave us a treat. thank cute!

Beppu

Met up wif Vreniz to celebrate xmas.

we headed to Beppu for dinner coz i know Vreniz would love their Char Siew. And though i loved their char siew, i decided to try their beef char siew since vreniz was gonna go for their char siew.

the beef char siew ramen....

a closer up pic....

the beef char siew was not bad. i opted for the non spicy one again. In comparison, i prefer the char siew though.

vreniz went for the char siew ramen...

as i had expected, she loved the char siew. its so tender! So yummy!

for desserts, we had an apple yoghurt and blueberry yoghurt...

i found the apple yoghurt too sweet for my liking but vreniz likes it. the blueberry for me was just nice but vreniz found it too sour. haha

Kbox

We adjourned to Kbox after dinner and their pricing today is damn expensive and they kept reminding us their drinks today are 20% more expensive. tidbits are at $6 per bowl and because we've got 5 of us, gotta take 3 bowls!

bibi ordered nuggets..

Was pretty good. though it took quite awhile to come.

Pho Hoa

Dinner @ Pho Hoa.. its located at Suntec level 3 (forgot which tower) but it was a quiet corner, it was between the cinema and the sky garden. Probably because it was a new corner, the restaurant was pretty quiet as well but xinhui pointed us to us that they have a branch at holland village and she quite likes the food from this place....

i ordered one of their plum soda....

i remember how i liked the one at Le Viet. both are nice.. this one is a soda while Le Viet's one is a juice but i recall Le Viet's one being more refreshing.

we ordered the spring rolls to share...

the spring roll was good! the peanut sauce was yummy!

xinhui and i also shared one of the noodle wif everything in....

a nice big bowl. Soup was tasty, the meats were generally decent but there was one particular meat (duno whats the name) that was exceptionally good! so soft!
