Bakerzinn

Lionel and i decided to go for coffee. I was giving him the options of the few coffee places over at Paragon and he told me .. " Let's not go Bakerzinn because i kinda boycott places that don't serve ice water "

So i tried to convince Lionel that he should give Bakerzinn a chance. Before we got seats, i showed him the menu to entice him with the pictures inside (haha).

It worked! lol

We were going to order drinks when i realised that most of their drinks are priced between $4.80 to $6.80. Call me slow but i've recently come to realise how restaurants are tock-ing (ie.chopping) us with drinks prices. For a drink to cost $6, its almost the price of a dish. Den i might as well save that $6 to order a mains right? I guess my highlight of the drinks prices to Lionel has convinced him not to order coffee also. We ended up ordering Evian ($1 per bottle). And i dun like Evian. I'm fine with mineral water but Evian just tastes funny to me.

We ordered the dessert tapas. Basically you get to choose five items from the list for $15.90. The 5 items Lionel chose were... (can't remember all the exact names)

this item is some banana pizza thingy...

Comes with vanilla ice cream. Lionel was commenting that ice cream shaped like the above makes it look more sophisticated then the usual round scoops. I'm not much of a banana person but this item is seriously not bad. The pizza was so crispy and yummy. A banana person would probably like it much better .. i think lil bee would like this!

and this is some caramel and chocolate ice cream with crispies thingy...

i remember it tasted much nicer when i had it for the first time with ping jie jie some months back. But overall it was not bad.

This one is some duno strawberry or raspberry cheesecake icecream thingy (i think)..

and i think its a smaller version of the previous dessert item they had on their menu. Some strawberry cheesecake ice cream thingy (which was very yummy). This item was pretty good in my opinon as well! Love the way the crumbs mixed with the ice cream... Ooooo..~

and the vanilla creme brulee...

a very small portion which was not bad. Really their creme brulee are not bad except that Lionel and i better. We'd somewhat consider the other one was the best we've ever tried (heh.. its the one from Lawry's!).

and the lime sorbet...

Lionel found it not bad and he said he found it not sour enuff while i didnt like it. It was too sour for my liking. haha.. so u see, taste is very subjective!

and then i was asking Lionel.. " so.. u sure u're gonna boycott this place? "

haha.. and he decided maybe not and i told Lionel he may wana check out this place again to try their other items.

I actually ordered a strawberry shortcake also but they missed out the item and i decided not to ask for it.
