Lunch was with Lionel and Christ. I've not met up wif Lionel for quite some time!
The entrance of the place reminds me of a spa actually..
and this kinda decor tells me, this place must be damn expensive. haha..
and the famous red lobster below....
the interior of the restaurant....
Lionel ordered a piece of the fatty tuna sushi...
which costs a freaking $17! or was it $18. anyways! its freaking expensive! although im not paying for it, that price is enough for a set meal elsewhere already! or even 2! Lionel said its good but still overpriced.
we ordered the set meal which comes wif an egg dish, the main dish, soup (either clear or miso) and fruits.
the egg dish...
a closer up view...
this reminds me of the onsen tamago i had at shin kushiya previously.. in comparison, both are pretty on par in my view but i kinda prefer shin's because shin's egg was half boiled while this one is poached.
lionel also ordered this buttered neck clams...
a closer up view...
this clam dish is one of the nicest dish for today's lunch. the sauce that comes with it is slightly garlic-ish and butter.. real good!
and this dish.. this chawanmushi! I remember i couldnt get my mind of it when i first saw the picture on Food Recentrunes.... its got uni and roe inside!
and thats why it costs a freaking $30. i tried a bit of it... i... think its ok.. and i do believe the freshness of the ingredients jusitifies the price of the item for people who know how to appreciate it. But $30 for a chawanmushi, for me, is way toooooooo expensive. So maybe, i belong to the category who doesn't know how to appreciate it. haha
for the mains, i orderd this tonkatsu dish which comes with potato salad....
the potato salad is pretty alright, got better towards the end coz i could taste pepper in the last few mouths.
and my tonkatsu....
another view...
i think its black pig... dun really koe why black pig is so popular actually.. havent been reading up about it... anything to do wif brad pitt? (ok, i lame). Anyway, the tonkatsu was really good! The pork was not tough or dry. it was quite tender and juicy. i like it.
Chris and Lionel both had a sashimi bento thingy (cannot rem the name)...
they were telling me that sushi yoshida is famous for its raw stuff. Lionel was nice enuff to share his wif me.. hehe.. while they were going on at the freshness of the items, which i do agree..... but i didnt find it amazing or wow-ing... but i think Lionel and Christ enjoyed their set pretty much. Oh.. u can actually read Lionel's entry here.
the set meal also comes with choice of miso or clear soup. I opted for the miso and the miso soup actually comes with fish (i think its salmon) inside...
the soup was nice.
oh.. one interesting thing about this place is their basin! and to show u, i got someone to pose for me!
initially i was wondering to myself, where to switch on the tap until the server pointed it out to me... u step....
So CoooL! haha
Lionel treated for lunch, thank cute!

Nooooo.....I said the otoro is expensive, not overpriced.
hey! nice place and food! thanks for the recommendation. i also think tt 30 bucks is way too exp for a bowl of chawanmushi, but the food there really look high-class n delicious :)
haha.. ya, i think its exp as well. but lionel n chris take is that the uni n roe makes up for the price which is right as well.
u can go for the set lunch w/o the chawanmushi if u like sashimi
