Miss Clarity Cafe

We thought we'd go for coffee at some coffee place but Clarity Cafe came to mind. Lionel has never been there before and i'm curious to know if their ravioli, tortellini and some risotto are back on the menu already so we went over to check out the place.

Right at the entrance, the big black board said...

New Menu! Ravioli and tortellini!

Sadly, after we took our seats and enquired, i was once informed that the ravioli and tortellini are still, not available. I feel so cheated by the black board. haha

However, the 2 risotto that i've been meaning to try is available so that's some consolation.

For drinks, after trying some of Norman's Appletiser earlier, i was hooked. So when i saw that Clarity serves them too, i ordered it without hesistation. Lionel tried the grape flavour.

The appletisers...

the grape flavoured one is slightly sweeter. I kinda prefer the apple flavoured one. Going for $3.50 per bottle at Clarity Cafe.

Norman went for the strawberry milkshake...

and just as i was taking a picture of it, i noticed how nice it would look with Norman's shirt in the background....

hahhaa.. Lionel was laughing when he saw this pic. He commented one side it looked all pink and merry but the other side is a contrasting FXCK. hahaha

Strangely, the bread butter pudding we ordered was served first....

Norman was won over by the bread butter pudding. I'm pretty sure he was wow-ed by it. haha..

next up was the red wine risotto with pan seared scallops ($11.80)...

this risotto is SO SO SO GOOD i tell u. Portion is great (both the rice and the scallops). Presentation is fabulous (don't u think it looks really nice and sophisticated? like u're in some fine dining restaurant). Taste is yummyilicious. Pricing is amazing. I don't think you can expect to get risotto at such pricings. The ring of brown coloured sauce is slightly spicy and the risotto does have traces of the taste of red wine. The scallops are a whole scallop and its fresh and flavoursome. This is one dish thats highly recommended and i'll definitely return for.

the other risotto we ordered was the risotto venere w steam seabass and vegetable cream ($13.80)...

The rice used in this is actually the one we usually have for desserts (hokkein: orr chok bee) but its not sweet. It tastes alright but i didnt like the texture of the rice. Its slightly hard. The cream sauce was quite nice though. The fish was also pretty alright to me. Reminds me abit of the mackrel we had at Basil.
