Les Bouchons

Dinner tonight is at Les Bouchous....

7 Ann Siang Road
Tel: 6423 0737

the entrance of the place...

their name cards placed along the entrance....

the interior of the place....

their menu...

Selection is pretty small actually but overall, all the items tonight were all pretty decent.

their cutlery...

We were first served bread....

its those small, hard, jiam tau loh ti... haha..

the burgundy escargots with garlic butter ($9)...

it appeared like it was infused with oil but its actually not very oily. Its taste was pretty good.

Terrine Maison ($10)...

hur hur... if u're stunned and confused by the names, trust me, u're not the only one... *raises hands* me too! haha.. basically, its pate and its got chicken liver and.. hmm.. i cant remember what.

a closer up view....

it was pretty yummy.

for mains, we had a Giant " Côte de Boeuf " which comes with salad and french fries.

The salad....

according to Lionel and Norman, there's wild rocket inside. They also have got walnuts. The salad sauce is the sour kind which was pretty good.

the french fries....

And when the Côte de Boeuf arrived, i saw blood flowing down...

the tray of prime rib...

its basically 1kg of prime rib.

A closer up view...

we ordered it to be medium rare. It was done pretty nicely. However, pricing is abit steep. It writes on the menu 1 kg for 2 pers, $37 per pers. NOTE: its $37 PER PERSON. So its actually $74. Kinda misleading.

Taste wise i was pretty decent. However, don't find it really value for money. For that sum, u can easily get prime ribs from Hogs Breath (w/o bones).

next up was dessert.

we shared a Ile Flottante (think its ard $8 or $10)...

its basically a round meringue soaked in some milky sweet syrup. the meringue is topped with caramel and almond flakes. SO GOOD! when u scoop abit of the meringue together with the syrup and put it into ur mouth, it just melts! WoW!

and Lionel and i havent got over Lawry's creme brulee so we ordered one today (costs around $8 or $10)....

its not as robust as Lawry's but this is seriously one of the better creme brulee i've had.

overall, things are all pretty good. Thank cute Lionel for the treat!
