Kazu Sumi-yaki Restaurant

I went over to Orchard to meet up wif Cynthia who's giving me a birthday treat. She's bringing me to Kazu!

Kazu is located at Cuppage Plaza level 4!

the entrance of the place....

and the interior of Kazu....

the section where they bbq the skewers (and basically its what they are famous for)...

upon Lionel's recommendation, i ordered this tea thingy dats $1per glass... lionel said its some cool rice tea but it was just normal (somewhat chinese tea like beverage) tea to me.. haha...

we were first served a complimentary (i think complimentary la) lettuce wif miso sauce.....

it was soooooooo GOOD! i almost finished the whole bowl of lettuce myself coz cynthia doesnt take lettuce. The miso sauce is so so so so GOOD!

and for food, i expected kazu to be slightly more expensive but was pleasantly glad its cheaper den i thought. I had a tamago ($4)....

it was not too bad.

cynthia ordered the garlic rice to share.....

which was rather fragrant! we both liked it..

den to the skewers....

pork and brinjal....

the pork is SO SO SO TENDER!

the following are the pork and brinjal, the oyster wif bacon, the foie gras and the chicken meat balls...

the oyster and bacon is so good... so juicy .. MMmm... and the foie gras was also marvellousl! the chicken meat ball was so so.. i mean, its not bad.. just not what i felt like having. haha

next up is the beef with cheese and wagyu beef....

the beef wif cheese was pretty good.. the wagyu was excellent.. extremely tender!

and the scallop, the pork and the cod fish....

cynthia likes the scallop... the pork was alright... the cod fish was not bad either...

den its the golden mushroom wrapped in pork, asparagus wrapped in pork, chicken cubes and leek and mushroom wif meat....

pretty good for all.

and the foie gras again.....

the no. of sticks we had...

and there was desserts....! I had the snowflake that was recommended by the friendly server. Its supposed to be ice cream wrapped wif mochi.....

a closer up view....

cut into half.....

inside was green tea ice cream wif red bean. Its not too bad. i kinda like the mochi better den the ice cream.

Cynthia had the tiramisu....

the top part was so good.. the bottom was mango shobet which i think many people would fancy but not me simply coz i dun like mango.

overall, kazu was a good experience... and we noticed some rather interesting items ordered by another table after we were done.. i so wana head back to check them out!
