Western - Secret Recipe

Marina Square's Secret Recipe....

Their menu....

Our drinks....

they charge 50 cents for a bottle of water.

Our orders...

Loh gong zai ordered the irish lamb stew under dar dar's recommendations....

Its tender lamb shank slow cooked with seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs, served with baked mashed potato. According to dar dar its quite good. Andy zai would always order it. I don't take lamb so i didnt try it.

Kendi had the penne with turkey ham and cheese....

Penne pasta with tomato and turkey ham topped with loads of mozeralla cheese and grilled till melted. The taste was alright. Kendi found it abit too saltish.

Dar ordered the prawn penne with cheese...

its penne pasta with prawns and mushrooms baked with mozarella cheese. The cheese sauce is oh so good! Very tasty. But can get abit gerlart if u have too much of it.

I had the caribbean style seabass...

its fillet of seabass with cream sauce served with green salad. Not my first time trying this. Quite like the doneness and juicyness of the fillet. The sauce also tasted really good.

we also ordered a kid's beef burger to share...

a closer view of the burger...

the mini patty...

it is served with alphbet shaped fries. I vaguely recall previously the burgers tasted much better. This time round the burgers didn't seem to taste very good. The beef patty was very normal and small. I sure miss Wild Rocket's juicy juicy burger!

Raymond and Avery who arrived later ordered two milk shakes....

one is a strawberry milkshake, the other is a strawberry oreo milkshake. Was supposed to be a normal oreo milkshake but they ran out of vanilla ice cream so they replaced it with strawberry. I tried it and the taste was.. hmm.. strawberrish with oreo... rather unique i would say. Some may like it but i didnt quite fancy it. Raymond liked it.

For mains, Raymond wanted to order the Penne with turkey ham and cheese but we got him to order the prawn penne with cheese instead.

Avery ordered the kid's fish and chips...

Shes got a very very small appetite!

Desserts! Secret Recipe is pretty famous for their cakes....

Kendi chose the Royal chocolate cake...

Melts in ur mouth with a nice crust below.

Dar ordered the carrot slice...

Details of it...

The top part is cheese. dar said she loves the top part. I found it pretty ok.

I, of coz, without a doubt, had to try the white chocolate macademia nut....

Diane had so highly highly recommended this cake. Its really sinful but really.. its so good for those who like white chocolate. Its even got macademia nuts in it...! Thumbs up to this cake!

The service for the night was not marvellous. We had difficulty getting the attention of the servers. But one server was particularly helpful and warm. Her name was Kurbseth. To show our appreciation, i asked for a feedback card to commend her for her services. I think its only right if someone offers you great service, you should do your bit to commend them.

The whole meal came up to about $120.
