Dinner at Broth.. Broth is located at Duxton Hill.
Got seats by the side....
picture taken using another mode...
told lil bee i was starving and told him to bring up the food quick. First to come was bread and butter....
i refused to have the bread and butter at first coz i was telling them i've always felt eating bread feels like its a waste of my stomach storage space. But food was still not here and both miss piggy (Lyndi) and mummy gorzilla (Elica) were raving about their bread and butter. Saying the butter does feel very oily etc etc. So i tried the bread. It was indeed quite nice but im still not a bread and butter person.
First to come was the cream of spinach soup....
I think its rather tasty. Compared to Menotti's, i actually prefer Broth's.
Next was the baby spinach and portobello....
Always a refreshing dish. I've always felt that its a healthy yet yummy dish.
Lyndi wanted the quail and bacon...
the quail texture was alright. Taste was not bad. Bacon was good though a slight bit salty.
Also had the goose liver....
Mummy gorzilla (Elica) said its the first time she's trying it and she likes it.
next to be served after the starters were our mains...
Miss Piggy (Lyndi) ordered a Australian sirloin steak with truffle hollandaise and home made potato fritters...
The sirloin steak is so so good! I dare say with the hollandaise sauce, its a much improved version from my previous visits. The potato fritters was round shaped and it didnt quite taste like potato. Taste was not very strong, crispy on the outside. Something new i would say. But thumbs up up up for the steak. Good enuff to replace my cravings for Valentino's steak. The rest of them agreed as well that the steak is so very good. Even ah mah pig (Joanna) who's not much of a beef eater said she might start developing cravings for beef after this.
Mummy gorzilla (Elica) ordered the lamb loin in green coat with fine green beans, garlic potatoes and mint jus...
The lamb is really tender. And as a person who cant take the mutton taste, i love their lamb as well. I guess if u're the kind who loves the mutton taste den you probably won't like it as much. For people who can't even take the mildest mutton taste, you'll probably like it like i did.
As for me, i had the US pork cutlet with apple, prune and walnut salad, rich red wine sauce....
It was strongly recommended to me by lil bee previously. Its so so good! I usually don't like to try pork chops coz they are usually very hard and tough but not this. The pork is also tender and the sauce goes very well with it. Served with the same potato fritters that was with the sirloin as well. Portion is comparatively smaller den the lamb and steak though.
Ah mah pig (Joanna)'s mains was the daily pasta which is the black ink squid pasta with ham...
Somewhat similar to what i had ordered during a previous visit except mine was with beef slices. Its in aglio olio style. I like the cheese on top coz its the somewhat bitter kind in thin slices. But overall, the meat mains were nicer.
For desserts, they wanted the chocolate creme brulee...
the chocolate creme brulee is a lil on the bitter side but the girls loved it especially ah mah pig (joanna). Along with it is a pear alcoholic drink with is supposed to go after the creme brulee but we didn't touch it coz they've already down glasses of red wine.
Mummy gorzilla (Elica) after reading my blog was eager to try the sticky date pudding....
The sticky date is still good but somehow felt not as good. Maybe coz im not in the mood but miss piggy (Lyndi) likes it. Its her favourite among the three.
Last but not least, lil bee recommended this supernova pavlova....
had tried the mini version during Broth's reopening ceremony. Its egg white below and in the crust is whipped cream. Its also a thumbs up!
Overall, the ladies commented that the desserts are so yummy yet dun feel sinful at all.
And actually throughout the night, i took a number of pictures of the sky and the surroundings....
