Again, we were offered free free flow of the soup.
The chicken soup for tonight was really good!!
Creamy level is just right, taste was just right, there was real chicken cubes inside. Yummy! But the standard of their soup can be rather inconsistent.
The other soup was old cucumber soup...
It was also really good. A more chinese kinda soup with big chunks of carrots and chicken.. the carrots were so sweet! The soup was light yet tasty! Yum yum!! Wee had two bowls!
Ping jie jie ordered some crispy chicken strips thingy...
Taste was alright but was too full to help finish because the mains started arriving.
Even before i ordered, ah yee could already guess what i'm gonna order.. she said... " surf and turf change the steak to chicken or garlic chicken spaghetti? " hahaaa.. she knows me so well!
And because i cant decide, ah yee offered to have the garlic chicken spaghetti while i haf my surf and turf chicken.....
like i've mentioned before, i fell in love with their surf and turf since my primary school days and when their name was still called Denny's. That was also when i had my first baked potato and their potato tasted so very good. And i'm basically a sauceless person so their sauceless surf and turf worked fine for me. Its tasty even without the sauce. They have actually changed the type of fish they use. I kinda prefer the old kind but i'm fine with the current one as well. The sides of carrot cubes, peas and corn is something simple and i agree it can be found anyway but i like it. I like it much better den coleslaw. That's just a personal preference.
and ah yee's garlic chicken spaghetti....
never fails to make a sizzling entrance on the hot plate.. it made Wee go " wah.... ".. i very much like the garlic sauce. Although i gotta admit it tastes like the artifical garlic paste sauce but still its very nice! Goes really well with the chicken chop on top and the spaghetti with onion slices. Yummy~!
Wee ordered the american ham and egg...
you get a choice of the doneness of the egg. Wee opted for the sunny side up. The american ham tasted ok. It comes with the hashbrown which i've also previously highlighted that their hashbrown is very nice! Its just like the rosti at Marche but much much cheaper. Taste wise its almost the same if not better! Wee and ping jie jie thinks its better den Marche.
Uncle Sq ordered an international delight from the breakfast menu....
They've also changed the sausage to the white sausage type. I prefer their old sausage which is also in a sausage shape but the meat is the type of meat which Mcdonald's sausage tastes (if u get wat i mean). Didn't try uncle sq's dish but he did complain that the waffle is quite hard and i don't like those hard waffles. I like it softer.. or rather, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The waffles they had, didnt even go soft after uncle sq poured in the syrup. haha..
ping jie jie asked for a recommendation and the server said the shrimps and steak was rather popular. I prompted her to try it as well coz i've never tried their steak....
Ping jie jie feels that the shrimps are very nice. I found it just alright. To me, the shrimps are not crunchy enough. So i guess its very subjective. As for the steak, for the price, i find it reasonably taste. I can taste the beefy taste and it was quite tender. Very worth the price i would say.
