Crystal Jade HK Cafe

Dinner at Liang Seah Street's Crystal Jade HK Cafe.

their iced milk tea....

its pretty good and their ice cream looks quite special. cant quite explain whats so special.. its like its a cube of milk tea by itself... n its some floral shape!

and this steamed scallop dish...

was kinda introduced this dish by the server after we ordered.. she was like.. " wana try this scallop dish? "

i saw the price, $2.30 only.. i didnt exactly read properly what dish it is so i said ... " ok, give us one... "

the server told me... " at least two " ...

so i figured two is only $4 plus so i said ok .. den she tried to cross sell again.. " what about ur friends? they want any? " wah.. really know how to do business! i quickly told her we don't want any other items..

anyway the scallop was so small, $2.30 is not really worth it. taste wise also not fantastic or super fresh.

a sampler platter....

the fried golden mushrooms are really nice!

fried squid....

Very good! slightly spicy, slightly salty and the texture is damn good! i realised these hk cafe's fried squids are usually quite nice.

crabby ordered the peanut butter thick toast....

its quite yum! the thick toast is quite crispy on the sides.

squiddy's tom yam pork chop noodles....

crabby's comments were.. tom yam not tom yam, spicy not spicy, sweet ot sweet... hahahha... basically just not nice. LOL!

fishy ordered the same salted chicken rice...

today's rice is not as nice as the other day. its still not bad but just not as good.

leoie ordered....

haha.. fried rice again! we suspect they got the orders wrong coz he ordered duck breast fried rice but there was no duck breast at all. Leoie didnt finish it coz he found it too salty.. i found it pretty ok.

i had their instant noodles wif luncheon meat and egg....

for desserts, leoie ordered a homemade soya beancurd....

Crabby is excited about the bambo bowl it is served in. haha.. the beancurd is not bad, quite nice.

i ordered a aloe vera osmanthus honey ....

its got a good honey sweet taste and quite refreshing.

Leoie treated, thank cute!

i would say its worth the visit. the fried squid n the salted chicken rice is good although standard is not consistent.
